You cannot choose specific variations to study and must look at what it shoves at you. It often suggests incorrect moves and requires you to follow them. It is much easier to simply use an engine and a database to study an opening than to sift through this apps terrible suggestions. Nothing has made me hate chess more than this app. Like a moron I actually paid for it. Huge mistake! Zero explanations, zero help. You’re not “learning” anything. Just memorizing lines so you can beat some random idiot at blitz. But you’ll never actually learn anything. Super disappointing and I hate that I wasted money on this app. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2026-01-07* This app is a total waste of time and money if you are trying to learn openings. There’s no explanation to why you need to make a move. There are “Course”, “Crushing” and “Variations” tabs in the app. None of them actually show the right moves or explain why they are the correct ones. It just keeps saying “Make the move you learned”. Where can I learn the moves? I can’t find where I can review the correct moves that I learned a while ago. And I keep getting wrong moves because I don’t remember which one are correct. I’ve looked everywhere. It’s like a guessing game. It’s extremely frustrating. I bought it a yearly subscription and now regret it. There are no guides in the app, there is not even a guide in what the symbols/path means. So you start and youaee puzzled where you are gojng.
