## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cannot Read Closure information

*2025-03-12*

When you click on a closure you cannot read the details about the closure or its updates.

### 1/5 — Better to just call 511

*2021-05-20*

App will not go past the welcome screen unless you give it permission to access your phone’s location info and allow the app to send you notifications.

### 1/5 — Crap App!!!

*2021-02-15*

Why do I need to agree that you are allowed to use my location and the information be given to others?

I just need to see a map with road closures. My location is irrelevant!!!!

### 1/5 — Tracker.

*2021-02-15*

Won’t open unless you agree to being tracked.

### 1/5 — Hate it

*2018-12-11*

This upgrade is horrible. The map is of no use. You cannot tell if the traffic is good or not because the map road color is yellow and it only shows orange or red for traffic issues. No green for good. You can’t tell the difference between yellow and orange. Also the way the arrow moves as it follows you is terrible. It doesn’t stay centered. Also there is no plus/minus to make the screen bigger or smaller easily. I use to rely on this app daily, now it is no help to me. I will have to find something else. I really hope some major changes are made. It is nice to have the drive mode if that’s what you are looking for, but if you want to see the traffic flow before you get out on the road, you will have to try another app.

### 2/5 — Does no good when the state doesn’t update the site

*2024-01-16*

Moreso a state issue than an app issue I guess because the website / app isn’t update in a timely manner to show traffic/road closures. Getting better/up to date info using Maps/Google Maps/Waze/etc and listening to the local radio stations instead.

### 2/5 — Camera… show video

*2020-10-28*

Pure crap since the update.
You click on a camera, then show video; the video expands so much once you click it, most of it’s off the device. Cant even see the road much less traffic on the device’s screen.

### 2/5 — The Update Is Terrible

*2019-01-03*

First the old version didn’t update to this app. I down loaded an update and suddenly everything on the app stopped showing updates for traffic. Then after a week of no contact with the site according to the app, I go to Louisiana DOTD webpage, which is working fine. I start checking traffic on the webpage, figure an update will come out to fix the bugs on the app any day. No. I finally noticed while playing around on their webpage that the app icon looks different. Curious. I click on the link to get the app. It takes me to at App Store to a different app than I have, the new app being this one. Ok, I think problem fixed, but why didn’t they in someway let people know they needed to download a new app. Why didn’t the other app update. I have both apps of Louisiana 511 on my phone now, but the other one doesn’t show traffic or anything. That stuff was all just aggravating, but I could get past it.
The kicker is all the stuff this app lacks that the old one had. The Louisiana DOTD webpage says this app has the traffic cameras, but it does not. The old one did, and I could get still pictures or live video. The old app also had WAZE reports in addition to DOTD traffic reports. No WAZE reports on this one. Most of the traffic problems aren’t even showing up. There can be a slow down in traffic and congestion at the Mississippi River Bridge as alway, but it shows nothing. I don’t have cameras on here to check so I have to rely on map colors only. That’s the other thing with no green to show things are clear, it is difficult to tell what color things are sometimes. Other times you just don’t know if it’s not getting traffic updates or if things are actually clear. It would be nice to be able to tell the difference between clear/moving traffic area and no data available instead of no traffic data available looking like it’s clear.

### 3/5 — Video play problems

*2020-11-18*

Since update, message that video can’t be played shows up. Video that does show is distorted and shows only a portion of the screen. When will this be fixed??

### 3/5 — Location alert

*2019-07-15*

I would like to see the closest city/town on the texting alerts.

## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I-210

*2021-06-03*

Would like to see a couple cameras put on I-210 loop.

### 5/5 — Live Camera - very good!

*2018-12-03*

Played with many traffic apps before. This app is the best one. Different from Google App or Apple Map, this app provides live camera view, it allows me to have a look at the traffic without drive to that place. If I stuck on the road due to traffic jam, I can have a look at the camera in the app and see what happens. Good and useful app!

### 3/5 — 511 app

*2019-07-12*

The app is very useful because I can see the traffic cameras and has alerts on the map but when I open the app it shows the New York 511 instead of Louisiana 511 but other than that it is great
