### 4/5 — Great Station Lville is so lucky

*2025-01-20, version 6.2.25*

There are NO stations like WFPK & LPM in Cincinnati. So glad I can get access to it thru the app.

### 4/5 — Kentuckiana NPR access

*2024-10-22, version 6.2.14*

Recent app redesign is huge improvement. Story headlines now fully available and not truncated. LPMs local news and reporting is outstanding and is the star of this app. The only addition would be to access NPR national programs like Weekend Edition Saturday and Sunday, Morning, Edition, and All Things Considered in the Podcasts section.

### 5/5 — Much Improved

*2024-02-19, version 4.6.34*

The dev team deserves to take a victory lap (and maybe a raise) for transforming what used to be a glitchy exercise in frustration and unrealized potential into a stable, enjoyable UX. Well done!

### 5/5 — Good

*2024-02-11, version 4.6.33*

Good app good music

### 3/5 — Better Local Focus, but....

*2024-02-09, version 4.6.33*

I really like the redesign that highlights the radio stations under the Louisville Public media umbrella. Local news stories are highlighted and easier to access. That said, it seems more difficult to use this app as a portal to NPR programming. That results in me accessing this app less frequently. Rather than using this app to listen to morning edition or all things considered (which I often listen to at a time other than when aired) I go to NPR's instead.

### 3/5 — Slow, jumpy, hard to use, no mute button anymore

*2024-02-07*

The old app was fine. Not sure why they got rod of it.

### 5/5 — It’s exactly what you think… Perfect.

*2021-08-15, version 2.0.10*

Great app for listening to Louisville public medias three stations, numerous podcasts, and also for keeping up with what’s going on/staying engaged. Kudos to Louisville public media for delivering this incredible application so we don’t have to switch between NPR apps, podcast apps, etc.

### 3/5 — App has the hiccups

*2020-07-03, version 2.0.9*

Stream stops playing for no reason or skips, repeats - occasionally stream will restart other times app must be restarted.

### 3/5 — Promo overload

*2020-05-15, version 2.0.9*

Please figure out how to reduce the number of promo replays. You can be in the middle of a story, respond to an alarm (phone call, other app, random unknown reason) and it stops the feed, replays the promo and you miss key parts of the story you were listening to. Frustrating!

### 3/5 — Nice design... But somethings gone wrong.

*2020-04-02, version 2.0.9*

Before this latest version, everything worked well. Now when launched, I hear the WFPK promo as expected but sometimes it repeats again and again. Intermittently, music might begin and play a few seconds or even a few songs, but then things jump back to the intro as if the app were just launched. Frustrating. Please fix so I can listen to my all time favorite station. Thx

### 4/5 — Google Cast Support??

*2019-12-30, version 2.0.7*

Love Louisville Public Media and this app is pretty good as well but would REALLY like to see Google Cast audio support to be able to play wirelessly to my Google smart speakers. Can we get that?

### 1/5 — Bring Back the Old App

*2024-02-14, version 4.6.33*

I really don’t like the new app.

—I have to take a roundabout route to find the WFPK Archives so I can listen to Relics.

—the new app doesn’t mark my place when returning to an archived show.

—when streaming an archived show I can’t drag the button to go back to where I was. This forces me to listen to content I’ve already heard.

### 1/5 — A Real Step Backwards

*2024-02-03, version 4.6.33*

First impression of the new app? Meh. Old app was really easy to use. This one? Nothing special. I expected more.

### 1/5 — Over the underwriting

*2021-10-26, version 2.0.10*

I’ve been a sustaining member of WFPL and WFPK since they had their station in the basement of the main library. I’ve watched with increasing dismay the encroachment of commercial sponsorship on their broadcast, and now, when one is encouraged to listen via an app, there’s the bonus commercial(s) that eats another 30 seconds of the listeners’ lives any gd time one opens the app. Let’s be honest: this is now commercial radio. This is not community radio.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2019-11-27, version 2.0.5*

Now the app is asking for location information, shows errors when you denying location services, no dark mode, play controls inside the app don’t work, take longer to load. Everything about this update is lame.

### 1/5 — Not useful

*2016-10-16, version 1.2*

I love LPM and I listen frequently on my IOS device so that I can carry it around the house with me. However, it's definitely not useful when it stops playing whenever the device screen locks. It also takes forever to restart when it does shut down. Too buggy to use.

### 1/5 — Incredibly underwhelmed

*2014-12-15, version 1.2*

In what universe is it useful to have an audio streaming app that stops playing as soon as you switch apps (even with this one running in the background) or as soon as your phone autolocks? I LOVE LPM and am a member but am deeply disappointed with the utter lack of functionality present in this app.

### 2/5 — Good station, crappy app

*2024-02-20, version 4.6.34*

Not sure why they got a new app. The old one worked just fine — better, in fact, than its replacement, which not only buffers all the time (sometimes several times per hour), but then makes you ensure yet-another advertisement (er, sponsor message) before rebooting. As one other commenter noted, it’s no longer community radio; it’s commercial radio.

### 2/5 — Not Great

*2023-10-12, version 2.0.10*

App buffers regularly, forcing the listener to have to suffer through the opening 30 seconds of ads/announcements over and over. At least it’s not as bad as the NPR One app.

### 2/5 — It’s nice when it works.

*2022-06-29, version 2.0.10*

If you have a marginal internet connection, you’ll spend more time listening to the station ID and sponsor message than you will any programming. It needs a filter to recognize how long it’s been since it played the intro and maybe not play the intro six times in four minutes because the connection is flaky.

### 2/5 — What happened???

*2020-07-21, version 2.0.9*

love FPK, dedicated listener and have been contributing annually for over 10 years. Lately, the app has not worked well. Goes in and out, buffering buffering buffering.

Please fix this app, we play this station constantly in our house and need my daily dose!

Sooooo frustrating trying to listen to Relics going in and out. Looks like we are not the only ones.

### 5/5 — Moved away but still get to partake

*2025-07-29, version 6.2.25*

Thank you!! I feel so at home when I’m making a new home outside of the Louisville Metro.

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2025-07-13*

This is a great app for local Kentucky news, music, & even perusing old podcasts that are no longer produced but local to just Louisville/KY. There are also some NPR podcasts on here.

### 5/5 — I depend on LPM!

*2025-07-11, version 6.2.25*

I often travel to places just out of reach of WFPL. I love to stream the app if there is a chance I might go out of range. It is easy to use to stream over my car speakers. THANKS!!

### 5/5 — Essential for being in Louisville Metro area

*2025-06-30, version 6.2.25*

LPM is a vital news source and network to understand what is happening here in the Louisville MSA, but also the broader world. Can’t recommend it enough and I donate monthly, you should too.

The best NPR station in the country!

### 5/5 — Appreciate the iPad support!

*2025-04-02, version 6.2.25*

I have no idea when this support was added, but it’s so nice to not just be an iPhone app blown up.

All request Mental Health day never fails to lift me up.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2024-04-07, version 4.6.34*

Been fan of the radio for nearly 20 years, love the alternative selection of songs that take you to a different direction of feelings, a delight for a music person like me. Plus there’s something about the frequency, mood it gets you, ambiance, etc. keep it up guys, love your work.

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2024-04-04, version 4.6.38*

Works great. Love the timer; use it most nights when I’m trying to get to sleep. Love being able to jump to web site to read / reread selected news items.
