Very inefficient. You pay subscription but still have to pay to use colored text. After a month however, I was no longer able to schedule messages to be sent in the future. I discovered that the “schedule message” feature was only available with the premium subscription. I certainly should have looked into this prior to purchasing, that is my fault. I am disappointed however that I already spent well over $100 for the Lovebox, and a simple feature such as this would cost me an additional $50/year. My son was next on the list to get a Lovebox so that I could send him messages and photos while at work, however without this feature being included in the price of a Lovebox, I just don’t think I’ll get another one. Updated 1/27/26 I found that you can purchase a year subscription with 1200 points. You get points from sending pictures regularly. I’m not quite to 1200, but at least there is an option to get a subscription without paying actual money! ### 3/5 — Great concept! App needs work *2025-09-12* Hello Lovebox team! I want to start by saying that I love the idea of this product! There is, however, a reoccurring issue when trying to send messages to the Lovebox. Occasionally it will work and they go through but, more often than not, it keeps saying “An error occurred Please try again later.” I’ve tried closing and reopening the app but the same thing keeps happening…Please take a look into this! Thank you for your time! ### 4/5 — Love it, but subscription is thrown in my face *2025-08-03, version 8.1.16* After I paid about $100 for this product, I am locked behind a subscription/paywall to do some pretty simple things like schedule a message and have basic designs available to me. I think that after spending so much money and being CONSTANTLY met with offers to buy the subscription, it takes away from what it is supposed to be; a LOVE BOX, NOT A MONEY BOX!!!!!! With that being said, this is an amazing gift, especially for people who love constant reminders of affection. This was the perfect way to communicate with her. The product is reliable. My only complaint is that all of the futures are restricted behind multiple layers of paywall’s. The free GIFs that you are able to send are extremely disorganized. If there was a way to search for specific GIFs related to what you are looking for (like holidays, people, or themes) that would definitely be a great improvement. ### 5/5 — Unique and personal *2025-03-13, version 8.1.15* I got my mama a Lovebox with a year ago and sent her messages weekly sometimes daily sometimes multiple times a day. She loves it. And I live in the same house with her lol. I I would love it with Lovebox was able to send short videos and that the graphics were better on the messages. But the thoughtfulness of it is amazing. I’m going to get another one for my aunt so my mom and my aunt can communicate with each other that way I think it’ll b be a great way for them to stay in touch since they’re in different states and their in their 70s – 80s. ### 4/5 — Love box opinion *2025-02-15, version 8.1.15* I love how you can send messages to your family members, but it’s a little hard to figure out, but I think it’s a great thing. No search function for messages and filtering is broken. It’s such a cute idea that is ruined by the post purchase cash grab. I’ll never spend the extra money because of how icky their business model is. For something meant to share love and joy, it’s such a shame and a huge miss. I can tell from the app that they wanted to monetize and then hired an overconfident product manager who just got an MBA and has no experience. Now nearly all of them are locked behind a paywall charging crazy fees for things that used to cost nothing. Same issue. I try to send a note every couple days just to remind my spouse how much I love him and all the little things he does to make our life easier (which are a lot of things around the house as he cooks, cleans and keeps us all running on time, well fed and even does the laundry. He swears he enjoys these things but I never let him wonder if his work is appreciated by writing little love notes which always list the little things he does which i appreciate greatly. Love box is sort of a digital post it note. It's a physical vox that has a physical heart that rotates when there is a message. If your handwriting isn't so great for a message on a post it then this is for you. It will help your marriage out more than I ever imagined. After all it's the little consistent everyday things that build the foundation to any marriage or relationship. Suppose it would be awesome for long distance. Hope this helps.
