A lot of the advice isn’t actually directly helpful either and is mostly encouragement about being confident and not insecure. Which is fine, but not something worth paying for, in my opinion, and certainly not the high price. **Developer response:** Hi Andrew. Thanks for the feedback and we understand what you're feeling. But consistency is key to change. If you use a meditation app, it'll often take you through the same practise daily. Addressing sexual dysfunctions is similar - consistency creates change, which is why we repeat a number of the exercises in the personalised programs. The lessons are easy to understand, the guidance each step of the way is perfect, and you’re never left confused, lost, or abandoned. Highly exploitive and inappropriate, especially considering sensitive nature of user’s content on this app. Read the privacy policy. It’s scary. I cancelled my subscription immediately after reading it. If the Lover team wants to assure its customers that their data is private and safe, they should do so clear unambiguous terms in their privacy policy, and they should stop collecting sensitive data that is directly tied to customers’ identities. **Developer response:** Hello, apologies that you felt the data we are asking is inappropriate. We are an FDA approved Digital Therapeutic that helps people improve their sex lives. Unfortunately to do this, we need to ask a few questions about user's current situation in order to better customise the content we provide. Why are you charging me? *2023-03-09, version 1.88* I saw your app by chance. It sounded interesting so I opened it (like I have done with MANY apps) to see what it was. NOWHERE was there a message that I would be charged $75+ for LOOKING. I saw the subscription info in the app and closed it. I have not used it nor WILL I use it. I don’t work with companies that do business this way. You have basically stolen my money as I bridge NOT sign up for anything! ### 1/5 — $100+ to watch videos. *2023-01-04, version 1.84* Can’t access anything for free to see if it’s any good. Immediately deleted the app cause after 3 day trial it’s $120 for a year. ### 1/5 — What a ripoff! *2022-12-02, version 1.83* You can’t access any of the features on this app unless you agree to a subscription, which is a whopping $75 for only three months. If you decline this subscription offer, the app is useless, but they send an offer through e-mail offering a one year subscription for the same price as the 3 month one. This is not a company who knows they have a good product and are charging accordingly; this is a company who is trying to milk as much as possible from their victims. I recommend the app Coral instead. I don’t know if I will pay for the subscription once my trial is over, but it seems to have a lot more features and flexibility than Love does, for a price that actually makes sense ### 1/5 — You Have to Pay for Separate Subscriptions *2022-03-03* I downloaded the Lover app with the three-day free trial that I could “share” with my partner. The developer said the app could be shared, but nowhere did it say that the subscriptions would be individual and separate even if you shared. After 2 days, we decided the app wasn’t specific enough for our purposes, so I canceled the free trial and future subscription. Two days later, I woke up to a charge on my account for $120. It was the app in question: Lover. Turns out that even though I canceled on my side, I was charged anyway because my partner didn’t cancel on his side. We were told the app could be “shared” with your partner, and we were never told we would have our own separate subscription. The developers of this app lack transparency in their operations. On this basis alone, I do not feel I can recommend this app. The information provided on the app is actually good, but for those of us who are well on our way into a sex-positive journey, it feels a little 101; we need something more profound and specific. I asked the representative at Apple who helped me if I could request to submit a report to Apple about this developer and app, and I was told all I can do is leave a review. I feel Apple should have a better policy to handle developers who don’t communicate properly with customers. Thank you! **Developer response:** Hi Verobp. We were disappointed to read your review. As we replied to you over email, we make no claims anywhere about the ability to share a subscription between accounts. There are places within Lover where you can "share the app with others", but there is no mention of a shared subscription. We do offer a "Buy one get one free" promotion occasionally, which comes into effect after someone completes their free trial - we then provide a 100% discount code for their partner to use. But as you never completed your trial there was no opportunity to do this for you or your partner. We responded to your email within less than 24 hours explaining the quick and easy process to claim a refund from Apple, and offering our assistance with that process. We also offered to reimburse you directly, if the process with Apple wasn't successful. We feel this was a very fair message, to which we received no response. It had a little note stating that non-binary content was on its way, but that’s not sufficient. Im not giving my time, attention, and money to an app that has inclusivity as an afterthought. I’ll use Emjoy instead ### 1/5 — Gotta pay *2021-12-29, version 1.60* Overpriced ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2021-11-17* Okay at first this seemed very promising but was quickly let down. I had an appointment with the theripist which I waited a long time for. First of all. It was through text not voice. Didn’t like that. Who wants to type for a half hour. Anyways I log in at 3:30 and the app says your appointment is in begin in 15 minutes. Thinking she was running late. I log in 10 min later and I see a message at 3:32 which I responded too but she never wrote back. She just assumed since I was late and left. I went to rebook later and 2 weeks away for another appointment which I had to pay for? I waited 20 minutes on the app for her to reply back. Anyways I deleted the app and got a refund from Apple.
