You don’t get notifications- you have to manually select the “play” button. I looked for every behind the scenes issues there might be, like background app refresh/notifications & nothing worked. This is due to the other partner having a message they have not played yet. The app allows up to two (from our testing, not confirmed) message vibrations to be sent to your partner before it will not allow you to record more.
