The app itself fails to work often. It really does suffer from bugs. Would. Five stars! ### 5/5 — A good for humanity *2020-08-29* The positive impact that an app like Loyal Books has, is the kind that just doesn’t get measured by GDP. Audiobooks are an amazing invention and thank you Loyal Books for making so many historic texts available to us for free. Only problem is most of the books only let you listen to around chapters 3-5 then just randomly stop and refuse to play anymore. One book I had to skip all of chapter one and it stopped again at chapter four. Even if it’s downloaded it doesn’t make a difference. And if you try to stream before downloading it won’t play until you download delete stream then the stream cuts off soon after it starts. I downloaded this app, after searching for some free audio books. I had no idea what I had really found. Hundreds of classics! The ads are tucked down at the bottom of the page. I was hopeful when I found this app but after downloading and trying to play several different audiobooks, I found that the app would just crash. Here are the reasons I love it so much: There is only 1 book I listen to (the wizard of oz) and I listen to it JUST to put me to sleep and man oh man does it do its job! I fall right to sleep in the matter of one chapter! The cool this is, when you turn it on, you can turn your phone off and it will still play so if you fall asleep it will finish the book, then stop. Since your phone/computer is allready shut off, the battery is kept and it will not move on to another book. You jave the choise to read or listen to the book of your pick. I love how calm and sleepy the person who reads the wizard of oz is and some other books also. I truly suggest, you wont be disipointed! ### 5/5 — Great free app *2022-01-30* Works great some glitches with formatting when you go to details of the book it goes to books higher on the list and the description is one letter on each line. Also sometime when it reads at the end of the section it cuts off the last 15 seconds I guess to say who’s reading it. I love the children’s versions of Shakespeare and Ancient Greek myths. There is everything from Celtic fairy tales to African folk stories, classics, biographies, philosophy, essays—you name it. I like mysteries and these old ones are the best! It has taken my mind VM off my husband’s cancer and other worries beyond my control. I especially like the Alice stories and their dramatic readings. I never get tired of listening to them. My mother and Mary always got johnnie crows garden and it’s nice to be able to read some of the stories I read in my youth.
