## What is LRC5?

LRC5 is an Audio Unit, or AU, for iOS. This application is simply a container for the Audio Unit and serves only as the documentation. LRC5 must be used in some sort of Audio Unit host or DAW application.

LRC5 is a five-band EQ. It includes low shelf, high shelf, and three parametric peak/cut filters. The filters can boost or cut by 24 dB. The frequency range for each of the filters is 10 Hz to 20 kHz. The filters aren't restricted to stay in any order. If a filter is set to a level of 0.0 dB it is turned off. You can also set the "Q" factor of each of the filters. The value ranges from 0.0 to 1.0. For the three peaking filters, a value of 1.0 gives a fairly narrow frequency band, but LRC5 isn't really designed for surgical frequency work. It is aimed primarily at coloring of the signal.

LRC5 can be used in a mono-to-mono or stereo-to-stereo setting. Actually, it is only restricted to having the same number of input and output channels. The channels aren't independent. The controls and settings are applied the same to all channels.

Editing of the control parameters is a bit different than is typical for an EQ. The intention is for it to be comfortable to use on a touch based interface. Please refer to the documentation in this App to learn how to control LRC5.

If you want the best EQ on ios it will cost you. Pro Q is undisputed but if you need a free EQ, this is the best no frills, no cost EQ. So what are you waiting for? Great developer, support them.

LRC5 must be used in some sort of Audio Unit host or DAW application such as GarageBand, Audiobus, AUM, or Cubasis. How you insert an AU into the signal chain depends on the DAW or host you are using. The best place to look for that information is in the documentation for the host.

I really like this equalizer because you can be very precise with your sounds. But, there is a huge error that happens when you want to cut out the highs in your instrument and it sends loud ear bleeding hertz into your headphones/speakers. This happens to me every time I cut out highs in my mix. Deleted this app because of this. This can kill your eardrums and it can make you deaf. Don’t download this app until they fix that problem.

**Developer response:** I haven’t had reports of a bug like this before. It would be helpful if you would contact me through the email link on our website so that I can get more specifics. Things like what host you are using and the signal path would be useful.

This was one of the first Auv3 plugins I found when I started making music on my iPad/iPhone. I was impressed from the start but the more apps and DAWs and things I use the more I realize how great and unique this EQ is by comparison!

I couldn’t even really say why (still new to the production side of music) but you can just shape things so well with this. 

And it’s free! So you dont have to take my word for it..
