### 4/5 — Great App, good for journaling

*2020-10-16, version 3.2.1*

This is a great app for your dream journal and general lucid dream practice, thought it could use some work. I’m using the free version, so I may need to buy to unlock some of the cooler features, but one complaint I have is towards the dream journal itself. The dream journal has a tag feature, where I can tag the dream as anything. This feature is nifty, but a little pointless without a search feature. I’ve been using this app for years and would love if I could simply search a tag and find all dreams that use that tag. Otherwise, this is great stuff! Very sleek night-friendly interface. It would also be cool to be able to use the app with my device horizontal, rather than exclusively vertical.

### 3/5 — Pretty basic, minimal help files

*2020-09-13, version 3.2.1*

The initial screen just has a timer with play & pause buttons that do nothing. My assumption was the timer was for the length of the dream cues but it turns out to be a countdown until you're asleep. The play & pause buttons only work after you've pressed Start below and after the countdown reaches 0. The UI looks nice but is not intuitive at all, basically counter intuitive.

### 2/5 — Abandonware, Methinks

*2020-05-30, version 3.2.1*

At this point it seems pretty clear the app has been abandoned. It's a shame, it was one of the better ones out there. It doesn't seem to be fully compatible with iOS 13, either. Don't waste your money on the unlock, some of it simply doesn't work. The rest is actually pretty good, so too bad.

### 3/5 — I have one problem

*2019-12-17, version 3.2.1*

This app is excellent and is everything I wanted, almost. I like the lucid dream timer but it doesn’t do what I want it to do. I want it to turn off after 10-15 seconds so that it is enough to wake me up but the lowest option is 15 minutes. Please make it so you can make the time lower because I think a lot of people could benefit from it. Would definitely give it 5 stars if that feature is added but without I don’t see any use.

### 3/5 — I want to cancel the trial!!

*2019-08-07, version 3.2.0*

I dont have enough money for it!! Please cancel the trial!!

### 3/5 — Help Please?

*2019-08-06, version 3.2.0*

I love the layout of the app and the features. However I can’t get the main feature, which inspired me to buy the upgrade, to work... Every time I choose a custom audio track there’s the check mark next to the chosen track, I press “done”, and then the audio still reads/plays “default”. Can you please help?
Thanks!

### 3/5 — Ok

*2019-07-24, version 3.2.0*

I like the idea just not that almost everything is locked. I also have a hard time using this app because I roll in my sleep causing my headphones to fall off in the middle of the night defeating the purpose of listening to the music. Good app otherwise.

### 3/5 — Please add a sleep stage tracker

*2018-10-25, version 3.01.03*

This would be so much more useful if it had something that made use of the phone’s accelerometer to track when you are in REM.

### 2/5 — HEY!!!!!

*2017-12-06, version 3.00.01*

What happened to the voice Recorder? You can have your other three stars when you tell me how to get it back!

### 4/5 — Found a way around subliminator crash

*2017-11-08, version 3.00.00*

Don't know if it was just a fluke or if it'll work for others but when I used my own images and added custom phrases the subliminator did not crash

**Developer response:** Thanks for reaching out, and that's a great temp solution! I've already fixed this one for the next release (thanks to you and a few others for pointing it out)

### 3/5 — I like the app, but.....

*2017-11-06, version 3.00.00*

The Subliminator crashes after starting. iOS 11.3

**Developer response:** I'm on it, and it's fixed for the next release! In the mean time, as one of the other users pointed out, you can temporarily solve it by adding your own custom image.

### 4/5 — Love the new design (Touch ID journal?)

*2017-11-03, version 3.00.00*

I was starting to get worried that this app was abandoned and was never going to be updated. I'm going to be honest, a few of the features I don't think would work... but most of them I love and they work well! In the changes it says that you can use Touch ID now for the dream journal? I can't seem to find that feature. (Can you please email me about that? Thanks) everything else is great! I would recommend this to beginners and advanced users. Beginners try it with the free trial first. Thank you for updating the app!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the first review of the new version, we're really excited to hear you like it! To answer your question: The Touch/FaceID should be activated any time you enter the Journal from the side menu, but will only appear if it's enabled on your device. ### 4/5 — Woah

*2016-07-21, version 2.01.04*

This actually worked the first time I tried it. Pretty cool. Please update though. Two years really ??

### 4/5 — Everything

*2016-06-28, version 2.01.04*

This app has everything, I never write reviews but I was intrigued, I forgot to press start last night tho lol, but i will try again tonight. I'm not a fan of the visual thing because I think it will kill my phone, but the concept is great, dream journal, noise setting, and dreamscape. Dreamscape is interesting, it basically changes the color of the flash to induce different forms of lucid dreaming, I am going to start off with Zen for fun, but then go to beginner and so on, I'll write another review tomorrow and let everyone know what happens.

### 3/5 — 😁

*2016-04-20, version 2.01.04*

Idk if I did it wrong last night, i just remember falling asleep.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — false advertising

*2019-04-27, version 3.2.0*

The upgraded account doesn't support custom music

### 1/5 — Confused

*2018-05-23, version 3.01.02*

I’m so confused there’s barley any noise coming from the app it’s just doing nothing

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2018-04-22, version 3.01.02*

I tested this app a few times, and it never works. I tried audio cues only, visual cues only, and both on, and at the end of the times, nothing. Also, who in the world can sleep with their phone light on? I assume you can’t lock it after you set the timer, since it wasn’t in the instructions. Has alot of promise, but doesn’t deliver at all

### 1/5 — Meh

*2017-11-10, version 3.00.00*

Could’ve done a better job. Say a tutorial, that would be nice. Plus, the app crashes every time I use the “sublimnimator”

**Developer response:** Talk about cold... As for the crashes: I'm on it. Maybe you'll warm up to it after the next update.

### 1/5 — Glorified Alarm Clock

*2017-08-03, version 2.01.04*

This app was far less than I thought it would be. First of all, instead of playing a sound for a certain amount of time in the middle of the night, it continues to play it until you turn it off manually. Not to mention that the same applies for the visual cues, which means your phone screen is being used all night.

Another thing is the dream journal, you can record your dreams in a journal either orally or scripturally and neither is useful considering there are several apps that will do it in much better quality. And from what I read in other reviews, you can't even read all of what you wrote after you have saved it.

I think the biggest problem I have is the fact that the developer decided to measure the delay times in "milliseconds". WHO THE FRICK MEASURES TIME IN MILLISECONDS!!!! Nobody knows how to do that!

My best advice to you is to either wait for another app that proposes the same features, or make one yourself. Because this app is not worth the trouble.

### 1/5 — Total Waste of Money and Storage!

*2017-01-01, version 2.01.04*

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP! Don't even bother trying it out.
I got this app hoping that it would help facilitate lucid dreaming. The features seemed great. The app looked alright on the surface. It seemed like it was going to be a useful tool in my attempts to induce lucid dreaming. It wasn't. It really doesn't do that at all. I have no idea who the people (or person...) are that have been writing 5 star reviews but it truly is garbage. The only features that have worked properly are the dream journal, subliminator and the focalizer. The last two are ridiculous in name and function. The rest of the features haven't shown any signs of working. Most frustratingly, the reality checker doesn't even pretend to work. The one feature that really sold me on the app and it's not even there. Honestly, I want my $6.99 back but I don't think that's going to happen.

### 1/5 — Lazy

*2016-12-08, version 2.01.04*

Hasn't been updated in over two years even though EGG is "coming soon." Crashes often, bugs all around, offers "extras" but then doesn't recommend setting or offer any ideas whatsoever. Oh, and the extras that don't really work are $6.99; don't expect it to be updated at any point either. This is lazy development.

### 1/5 — Hoax

*2016-03-19, version 2.01.04*

I tried three times already and nothing. Just plays music after the timer goes off. That's it. Don't download and definitely don't buy!

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2016-01-10, version 2.01.04*

Another lazy developer. EEG Coming Soon? This app has not been updated in two years. Is that your idea of soon?

Anyway this app is useless. It's basically a count down timer with a max setting of two hours. After the timer goes off the app plays a sound and flashes the screen until you manually turn it off.

First you don't usually enter REM sleep for 3+ hours of sleep but as I said the app has a max timer of two hours.

Secondly, I don't need my phone going off all night long as it's going to burn out the screen. Plenty of apps know your sleep patterns based on movement. This app is so basic it's almost useless. Why doesn't it use your sleep patterns and only go off when you enter REM sleep, then shut off until you enter REM sleep again?

I have no idea why a dev can't make a decent sleep app but there is NONE on the market. The sleep cycle apps all lack lucid dream components and the lucid dream apps all lack sleep cycle detection. The only app that has both is Singularity which is half baked, crashes on alarm (so it doesn't actually work at all) and like this app hasn't been updated in years.

Pathetic.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2015-11-22, version 2.01.04*

From time in milliseconds to not being able to see your whole entry this app has a lot to improve on.

My biggest complaint is that when you click on a dream and it drops down your entry, if you wrote a lot you can't see it all unless you click to edit it.

Also, the app itself seems cramped and confusing. I think it should be made a little less claustrophobia inducing.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app but I think I broke it

*2020-06-14, version 3.2.1*

I tried out the reality checker and tried to edit the message it sends and clicked out of the typing pad. Now I can’t edit it. Help?

### 5/5 — I should’ve started with this

*2018-01-20, version 3.01.02*

I’ve been trying to have a lucid dream for 6 years with no luck. I’ve had this app for two weeks and I just had my first completely lucid dream. I bought the full app and all the features help. The reality check reminders and the subliminator are my personal favorites. The actual lucid dreamer helps me have more dreams that I can remember and gives you opportunities to become lucid. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone trying to have a lucid dream. Finally being able to experience it has just made me so excited to go to sleep again!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-12-20, version 3.00.01*

This is overall a great app but needs some explanation. This is more a letter to the editor than any recommendation. Here’s my review: it’s a good app.
But, it doesn’t really explain what the timer is for (the main function of the app), how long you should be setting it for, how it works, why it works, or what it does.
I’m not really sure what the timer does, and if I don’t know what sound is going to play how do I know to look for it in my dreams?
There’s almost no explanation of the app’s purpose, there are only settings that you’re supposed to know how to do.

### 5/5 — Trying out the app

*2017-11-13, version 3.00.00*

Looks good I’m gonna try it and see how it goes will update later

### 5/5 — Can't wait!

*2016-09-18, version 2.01.04*

I've looked at a lot of the reviews, and several people have said they've had their first lucid dream the night they used this! I'll update you tomorrow; I can't wait to try!!

### 5/5 — Three Happy Years

*2016-08-21, version 2.01.04*

Recorded some of the best dreams I've ever had using this app. It saves time because I can use the voice recorder instead of writing it down in a journal, which I used to do for a while. Amazing.

### 5/5 — It's pretty decent

*2016-07-14, version 2.01.04*

It gets the job done. That's the reality of it. It may lock of a few nice features, but even without those omitted features, it does go above other apps of its kind.

### 5/5 — Great! It really helped!

*2016-04-10, version 2.01.04*

I had my first lucid dream with this app! It was awesome!

### 5/5 — First Night! I'll tell ya how!

*2016-01-05, version 2.01.04*

This is my first review ever, but I had to because of how impressed I was. I had a lucid dream on the first night. I used the main thing with the timer and blue flashing light. I turned the screen towards my face while I fell asleep and that volume kinda quiet because it surprisingly woke me up a few times. I was asleep, but since I turned the screen towards me, I saw blue flashes and new that I was in a dream because I fell asleep on the thought that I am gonna have a lucid dream. I thought really deeply on everything. The area, smell, touch, etc. Trust me guys, this really works!!

### 5/5 — First Day Worked

*2015-09-05, version 2.01.04*

Amazing app. I used it on my first day, in my dream I head the waves and it didn't wake me up, but make me realize I was in a dream. I had my first lucid dream tonight. Might not work for all, my brother kept on waking up from it :|. However still amazing.
