By comparison, the Lucky app is inferior to its competitors. Itnis very hard to find and apply the digital coupons. I see signs in the store saying a digital coupon is available, but the QR codes on these signs only open the app, not the coupon. Once I’m in the app, as near as I can tell, there is no way to search with an item name to find available coupons. Instead you have to scroll through all coupons and hope you see it and then clip it. There is a UPI code scan feature that allows you to add an item to a list, but the list does not indicate coupons. I suggest to the developers that the app search should unify the experience by locating the item and showing any and all coupons that are available. As it now, the Safeway app works far better with respect to managing coupons. ### 2/5 — Tolerable, but should be better *2026-01-23, version 5.5.0* App is oddly slow and buggy when just moving about. Worse while in store where often cell service is so so. When a coupon is clipped, IT SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE ADDED TO MY SHOPPING LIST! When I arrive to shop, I have to go to the rewards tab to see which coupons I’ve clipped. Then move back and forth from my shopping list in app. This app DOES NOT appear to follow iPhone settings for larger fonts. My fonts are made larger throughout iPhone, yet the Lucky app remains tiny hard to read font sizes. Summary: Lucky app is tolerable, but should be better and easier to use. ### 3/5 — No prices *2026-01-22, version 5.5.0* A bunch of their items say price unavailable even when the store is selected. They are overpriced. Not a fan. I only go when I need something quick or they actually have a deal on something I need. The Red bird chicken products are great but they don’t always have what I want in that either. Now it is stuck on the login screen, where you can create an account or login. Except when I try logging in, it takes my info, then puts me back at the same screen. First of all, why is it even requiring me to login again? Secondly, fix the login, so that it actually logs in, or gives an informative notification of why it isn’t logging in. Making it load less so that it’s faster wouldn’t hurt either. Everytime you clip an item the whole list resets to the top so you have to scroll back down again. There’s so many problems and so many negative reviews yet nothing gets fixed. Another corporation that makes it difficult for their customers to save some money. So on the last day of school I stopped by and realized I got a great deal on a product I really like. I went to my local store near 24 hour fitness on El Camino and found an even better deal. However, what really made me come back was the staff. I totally butchered Rosalba’s name and se did not correct me, then when I returned to apologize I met Elizabeth, who is probably my favorite employee now. Elizabeth has always been helpful and seems to care as much as I do about saving me money. She often says see you tomorrow and so I just stop by for an item or two and to say hi to employees. I highly recommend you going to see the staff and shop the deals.
