Erinnert bisschen an den alten Klassiker Maniac Mansion.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Slow Speaking

*2024-01-16*

I have completely deleted and reloaded this demo three times, and it continues to speak in slow-mo. Sad. Because it really looked interesting.

iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 17.2.1

**Developer response:** Oh no, sorry! That’s really odd, I’ve not come across that bug before. It wonder if it’s conflicting with another app.

### 1/5 — Unable to rate ::((

*2023-04-25*

Game will not open despite several different "try this" tips. iPhone 11 Pro, current ios version 16.4.1.

I'd love to try this!! ::((

**Developer response:** Updated response: The latest update should hopefully all be working on the latest iOS versions now. Please feel free to give it a whirl again! :)

### 1/5 — LOL 18 Euro

*2022-10-19*

18 Euro f. das Hauptspiel. Unfassbar. Damit wird diese App nun obsolet.

### 2/5 — Terrible Voice

*2025-01-02*

I started with the prequel fully intent to buy the complete game - So glad that I didn’t!

The voice actor for the little girl is awful! A pathetic middle-aged British woman with a tone of an annoying neighbor. Like nails on a chalkboard. I couldn’t handle it. Since puzzle games like this require you to listen to the dialogue for figuring out the next action, it was torture within minutes.
Deleted after less than five minutes of play.

**Developer response:** Fair dos, some people enjoyed the (award winning) voice acting. If you don’t, you can always turn the volume off and narrate it with a less annoying voice in your head.

### 2/5 — Glitch won’t allow final item

*2022-08-27*

Have everything but the calm music. I captured the flu and went to the room where dad was to see if the fly would make him leave so I could get the tape. Now there is no door to the room, and no way to interact (that I can find) to enter the room. I’m playing on a brand new iPad 12 Pro with a Tb of memory, so it shouldn’t be that.
If I’m wrong, let me know and I’ll change the rating. 2 stars because it was good cheeky fun up until then.

**Developer response:** Oh wow, that’s a totally new bug. 😅 If you restart and reload the autosave or a saved game (from the save/load menu) is the door still non-responsive? Has the door completely disappeared, or can you just not tap on it? Have you tried double tapping on it too?
Feel free to email me at tom@tallstorygames.com to try and work out what on earth has caused this. 👍🏻

### 2/5 — Not sure...

*2022-08-07*

This demo doesn’t really provide enough gaming material to even make a judgement.
Except for the fact you have to save your own progress manually, which I didn’t realize, so lost any small amount of progress I actually made.
I couldn’t advance anyway so I just deleted the game after that.

By the way when is the finished game going to be done?
It’s been a while...

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the feedback. There is an autosave available in the save/load settings too which is updated each time you change scene 😊
This free demo/prequel is only designed to give players a taste of the gameplay and tone of the game which will be ready for release in September!
As a solo indie dev, any low ratings and reviews can seriously affect my games, so please consider updating your rating if you are able to continue through the demo using the autosave 😁 Good luck!!

### 3/5 — Lucy Dreaming Prequel

*2025-01-12*

Why is it unnecessarily complicated with four buttons to either Look At, Pick Up, Sniff or Use? Why can’t you just Select and the object interacts already like every game???

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! It’s not everyone’s favourite interface, but every game is different, and with multiple command options, there are more opportunities for puzzles and exploration. Simpler interfaces are great in some ways, but also limiting in others, it’s always a balancing act 😊

### 3/5 — Crash on launch

*2023-04-10*

Doesn’t work, crashes on launch. Will keep an eye out for update as looks like it might be fixed soon and is caused by iOS itself!

**Developer response:** Updated response: The latest update should hopefully all be working on the latest iOS versions now. Please feel free to give it a whirl again! :)

### 4/5 — Very nice but too short

*2022-05-08, version 1.2*

Great old style atmosphere, lovely sense of humour, balanced difficulty (enough to have to think, not too much to be blocked).
I spent a good moment at it although it’s really short (let’s say round half an hour taking your time to explore), which is the reason I put only four stars. I warmly recommend this game anyway :-)

### 4/5 — Lucky In the Sky!

*2021-06-20*

This game is funny and quirky. I just wish items in the rooms such as those on the bookshelf, were bigger and spread a part more. Everything feels so tiny. I can’t tell you how hard it was to see and click on certain things. However, I am glad to see a funny point and click game. It has been a while since I’ve found one. :)

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your review, so glad you enjoyed it! We’re currently developing the full version of the game, so your feedback on the hotspots is brilliant, thank you!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great game

*2025-01-05, version 1.3*

Loved this game as maniac mansion was one of my favourite games of my childhood and this is very much like it. Just wish I could afford to buy the full version.

### 5/5 — Awesome demo

*2024-07-08*

I want to purchase the full game, seems a bit expensive however, is it longer than most adventurer games?

### 5/5 — Buenísima

*2023-12-03, version 1.3*

Me ha encantado, con referencias a monkey island muy divertidas. Gracias por esta aventura, esperando la versión en castellano del juego completo!

### 5/5 — Nice, quirky, but!

*2023-11-16*

This game was lovely and I really wish I could play further like I normally would when pleased with a demo. As an avid independent game development supporter I have never paid that much ($14.99) for an iPad game. I bet if you lowered your price by at least half your sales would go up. But that’s just like my opinion man…

### 5/5 — Great but overpriced

*2023-11-13*

This demo was lovely and I really wish I could play further like I normally would when pleased with a demo. However, $14.99 is just outrageous. It’s more than Broken Age, the Myst game’s remastered and all the Room games combined. I mean the game is quirky and all but come on…

### 5/5 — Well crafted adventure game

*2023-09-28, version 1.3*

Thanks for the detail. This is a fun old school adventure game requiring some lateral thinking. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Similar to Thimbleweed Park.

### 5/5 — Can’t believe how awful these reviewers are

*2023-08-12*

Short version: Please take a moment to rate & review positively if you liked this or even if you just support the genre, bc it really matters to indie devs. Don’t let the whiners & selfish chumps dictate the game’s average, and make it harder for point & click adventure games to be made.

Full version:
People give a low rating and flat out admit they didn’t play it; stuck on a puzzle so it must be a glitch; “omg my precious sensibilities were triggered” by content in a game that says repeatedly up front it’s full of dark psychological humor, so low rating; and the eternal entitled classic- “I loved it but then the greedy dev wanted to be compensated for their work, how dare they?!” (from the same oafs who get addicted to increase-your-town/army’s-number-in-endless-linear-progression business model “games” that are “free,” and end up getting suckered into pointless IAPs).

And despite these petty, selfish people's petty, selfish whining, the developer bends over backward to be incredibly nice to them. Do devs of your so-called free games with a million players ever write genuine responses to reviews? Has anybody from a company churning out the endless parade of clones ever offered to personally assist a completely unreasonable person with getting a refund?? Of course not; since they simply buy their ratings & reviews in bulk from one of the many websites providing that service. They don’t care about legit grievances, much less the ridiculous ones; indeed, most don’t even bother with a standard form reply. They release products that required only the bare minimum of creative or cognitive effort to make & even less than to play; mass production exploiting an unregulated market. They take no risk, design everything from proven profitable bases, and keep the servers running as long as the money flows.

Compare that to this ONE person, doing all the work of creating an actual interactive story that’s entirely original. No assured profits, just the opposite. Even a really good game in this genre can fail to recoup costs, let alone provide any income whatsoever to the developer. Indie devs take a huge risk out of real passion for the project. No bought ratings here. All that, and to show such concern for players even when they’re jerks… remarkable.

The worst part is that even after all the dev could possibly do for these horrible people, they haven’t updated their ratings. I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise– the entitled, 100% self-centered, thoughtless reviewers won’t suddenly become decent people, most probably never even saw the dev’s efforts.

So why the rant, if it doesn’t matter? Because not everyone is a jerk, most of us are just lazy. What I ask of anyone who read this or skipped to the end is this: If you liked this very generous amount of free preview, or the full game which is now available, take a minute to write a real quick positive review. It doesn’t have to be a novel like this one. Just a sentence to support the developer who put so much effort into keeping classic point and click adventures alive. Or at the very least, tap the 5* rating, no review required. And if you have some little grievance, don’t give a lower rating until you’ve tried contacting the dev first. Reviews aren’t the place to seek tech support. This dev genuinely wants to help no matter how big a doofus you are. Let them try before taking a dump on the game’s reputation.

Finally, if you think the full game’s cost is too high, please post a review directing us all to your equal or better game that you offer for less. No game? That’s ok, just tell us where you work, so we can all show up expecting the business's product or service to be free.

### 5/5 — Top mais jeu complet pas en français?? 😫

*2023-06-20, version 1.3*

J’ai adoré cet avant goût mais le jeu complet coûte assez cher et en plus n’est lui pas proposé en français. C’est vraiment dommage, pas question que je paye 17€ pour un jeu en anglais.

### 5/5 — Brilliant!

*2023-02-25*

Such a well-executed game. Puzzles were challenging yet achievable and not frustrating. Clever story lines. Loved it!

### 5/5 — Brilliant! Go buy the full game!

*2022-11-06*

Absolutely loved this little game. Gives you a great taster as to the quality of the full game. Play this then go buy the full game!
