It works good enough to keep using it. But the app has not gotten better and most function don’t work. Now it keep telling me it currently unattainable. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t pick up device *2018-03-22, version 5.1.7* It keeps saying “device not activated” when it is activated, charged, and within range. TRAKDOT software is better ### 2/5 — Changes aren't always good *2017-02-19, version 5.1.1* This used to be a great product but after a number of app updates that have downgraded the functionality I would no longer recommend this. I have used two of these for over two years and when they stop working or don't have cell coverage around the world the only support option is an email to customer support who will blame everything except their product. ### 1/5 — Good application unreliable device *2016-12-29, version 5.0.7* Application is good, however the device itself is unreliable and customer service is just terrible. I used the device only about 10-12 times and it stopped working. It was out of warranty and customer service offered a discount for a new one nearly 2 months ago. They never provided a discount coupon despite my numerous emails saying that they have "international shipping issue". I've never received such a ridiculous reply (can't ship goods in stock for 2 months?!). Don't buy this product. ### 3/5 — Ugh fix this!! *2016-12-16, version 5.0.6* The locator itself works great, as does the app. However, every single time they update the app, it forgets your password. I mean, come on, that's iOS programming 101. ### 1/5 — Update does not open *2016-10-14, version 4.0.7* The old app worked perfectly. Since I have updated the app freezes and never really opens. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling. I still have the same problem. The app does not work. I was able to copy the previous version from my computer. DO NOT UPDATE YOUR APP until they fix it ### 4/5 — Trace expiry *2016-05-29, version 4.0.6* This is great product but with my recent experience i like to see my trace expiry in app. ### 1/5 — M *2016-02-09, version 4.0.4* After activating the unit I discovered it will only approximate the location. The first reading was approx 8 miles off the second and third were 25 miles off. If someone stole your luggage it would be impossible to locate it. I purchased two lugloc devices last year. Neither of these would activate when registered via the App. Despite repeated emails, I have received no technical support from lugloc. I emailed the support because there is no way to contact them via phone and they said 2G doesn’t work in a lot of places now so the device is useless and will only work for Bluetooth within 100ft! Absolute joke they are still offering it on the AppStore ### 1/5 — Don’t bother - Service is Dead ! 2G Cell network no longer working *2019-05-25, version 5.2.1* They (LugLoc) take your money for a years subscription, then the service doesn’t work because the 2G cell network is getting switched off all over ! They don’t tell you ! They don’t warn you ! It just stops working and when you enquire with support, they just tell you the network is no longer in service, too bad ! They don’t offer a refund, they just tell you it doesn’t work ! Then they try to sell you the NEW service, rebranded as Gego... The new Device costs more ! New service and new subscription... same company ! And it not like they didn’t know this was going to happen when they took your money either ! Network shutdown was planned years ago... they knew it, they just didn’t tell you when you buy the device and pay for the subscription for service ! What a rip off ! ### 1/5 — SLOW *2018-01-26, version 5.1.7* The app is very slow. The Bluetooth is very limited it can’t even find the device in my house 10 feet away. Finding the device via a cell signal takes forever I could probably call the airlines and find my luggage just as fast. Don’t know what’s wrong but the location ability of the app is slow and limited. I purchased this after seeing it on the today show. I has a monthly fee on top of the 40+ dollar price tag! I paid it twice in hopes that it would work. Horrible setup! App is a bit awkward at best! It uses Bluetooth which has a short range not GPS. I used it on my last trip and went to use it today and the device said I was in North Carolina not Florida which was where I was! There is no phone number for support only email! Save your money! ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2017-06-19, version 5.1.6* The loc never charged more than 10% even when I left it on the charger overnight. I couldn't check where my luggage was (in the airport) when there was no wi-fi. Overall, it didn't work more than it did. I am not paying for something I cannot use. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — LugLoc over GEGO! *2019-09-11, version 5.2.2* The original LugLocs are fantastic! Saved me in Cuba and even the US when I was tills my luggage was lost/delayed. You can switch it on and off so you can charge in advance. The updated GEGO is bigger, bulkier and no switch, so you have to charge it right before you pack and go. It’s also more expensive (to purchase and the tracking plan). The original LugLoc works on 3G, which may be slowly disappearing in the US, but will likely remain the standard in foreign/3rd world countries. ### 5/5 — Worth it! *2019-05-09, version 5.2.1* Lost my luggage several times. Having lug lock lets me know where my luggage is. Never again will my luggage get lost! ### 5/5 — An excellent device *2017-10-15, version 5.1.7* I bought two of these for a three month trip where I was travelling around a lot and it would have been tiresome if not impossible to trace any missing baggage without a tracker. They worked perfectly. It gave me peace of mind. I particularly like the automatic alert for low battery so I could be confident that were always working. ### 5/5 — Peace of mind *2017-10-02, version 5.1.7* First used with checked bag and getting the text whilst standing at immigration to tell me it was in the same place as me was very reassuring. Next used with a bag shipped by FedEx and it has worked perfectly being able to follow its progress and I can see that it has arrived at the destination and is waiting for me to collect. The power monitor does go down! Great gadget that I would recommend to anyone. ### 5/5 — Works a treat *2017-08-31, version 5.1.6* KLM lost my luggage again, this is six times now. I was travelling to Munich and they sent it to Austria. I was able to locate my luggage and go and get it myself. Airlines only refund up to £1000 but never do. If you add up what is in your case , to replace it comes to over £1000. Excellent, works as indicated. *2013-09-24, version 1.0.1* Lo he probado en viajes en USA y Sud America. Funciona a la perfección, tal como me indicaron. Vi en mi iPhone la ubicación de mi equipaje y la carga restante de la batería. Incluso cuando lo guarde, a la vuelta de mi viaje, se me quedó encendido. Luego de más de 1 mes, me llegó un email y un aviso al iPhone, indicándome que al dispositivo le quedaba un 10% de batería . . . al revisar el dispositivo, efectivamente estaba prendido dentro de su caja donde lo había guardado. Lo recomiendo luego de que a mi hijo la línea aérea le robo su maleta la cual nunca apareció. I tried it on travel in USA and South America. Works great, as indicated. I saw on my iPhone the location of my luggage and the remaining battery charge. Even at the end of my trip when you save it, I was on. After more than 1 month, I got an email and a notice to the iPhone, telling me that the device was left 10% of battery. I checked the device and actually was on in his box where he had saved. I recommend it after the airline stole my son suitcase which never appeared. ### 4/5 — Peace of mind *2017-09-21, version 5.1.7* So far I have been please with the device. I purchased it after have lost my luggage during Christmas two years ago. I visited family in the military in El Paso , TX. My luggage was misplaced for almost a week! I was told it was in Miami , then I was told it was in Tucson. Turnout it never left El Paso!! I had that feeling when the baggage clerk was dealing with an irate passenger when I walked up. I wish I the device then. So far, so good! However, I wish the design was different , it's hard to tell if you have the device on or off.
