## What is LumaDICOM?

LumaDICOM — view your CT, MRI, and X-ray scans on iPhone and iPad.

LumaDICOM opens the DICOM files your hospital, clinic, or imaging lab gave you (CD, USB, archive, or download link) and turns them into a fast, clear viewer right on your iPhone or iPad — no account, no cloud, nothing leaves your device.

Explore any study as 2D slices, as a real interactive 3D volume you can rotate and cut through, or in full MPR with all three planes at once.

### 1.8.3 — 2026-09-02

Opens JPEG-LS studies — a compression some scanners and cloud-film services use; those slices used not to load. A clinic's disc image (ISO) is recognized even inside an archive and without an extension. Portal pages that redirect to the archive are followed automatically. Clear guidance for video clips (ultrasound) and 3D models (STL). Thank you for your reports!

The app now warns you up front when there isn't enough free space to unpack an archive — and tells you how much to free up. Clear guidance for web-portal exports (HTML/XML). Thanks for your error reports!

Clinic portal links now work. If a link opens a page that wants a login or an access code, open it right inside the app: sign in, tap the download button, and the images arrive on their own. And when the page holds a direct link to the archive, the app finds it for you.

Clearer messages when the files you picked aren't DICOM: the app names what they actually are — a PDF report or ordinary images — and what to ask the clinic for.

Fixed: the density histogram was missing from fine tune on studies with saved settings.

Smarter import.

• If the folder you pick contains archives rather than images, the app now unpacks them itself instead of reporting that the files could not be opened. An archive that contains archives is handled the same way.

• A clinic disc's Windows viewer (.exe) is first tried as a self-extracting archive, since many of them carry the study inside. If it really is just a program, the app now says so and tells you what to ask the clinic for.
