UX is stuck in 2012 or around that time. App does exactly the same what my PanelPro already has on its LCD.. frankly, using LCD screen might be even more intuitive and easier. Most likely will just ditch the app and use decide without it. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2021-06-27, version 2.0.2* When I first paired the Panel Pro with the app it worked. I liked how it worked and wanted to use the app to control the panel pro for an outdoor photo shoot. The next time I turned on the panel pro and the app it did not work. The app showed the panel pro but would not turn it on. No matter what I did the app was not going to work. I’m disappointed that there has not been an update to fix this problem. ### 2/5 — Needs more functionality *2021-06-23, version 2.0.2* The App handles and looks nice but lacks some fundamental abilities to supplement such quality lighting equipment. 1, Unable to individually set RGB levels on the Panel Pro unless you try and fiddle around with the control wheel which is totally hit and miss. 2, No Colour Picker, which at least gets you in the ball park of getting the colour you need. 3, Missing the Optical On/Off Trigger function for the Lume Cube 2.0 4, You can not pair more than 4 lights to this App, how ridiculous is that. Hopefully, these will be addressed by future updates and soon. ### 2/5 — Light descent , but app doesn’t work with Lumecube 2.0 *2021-05-06, version 2.0.1* It does not find the light through Bluetooth so I have been unable to connect ....I go to their website and it’s just as useless ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2021-04-23, version 2.0.1* The app requires you to get the panel in Bluetooth pairing mode, but doesn’t say how (long press on the power button, as it turns out). Then it wants a serial number...but there’s no serial number on the device, or the box, or the documentation. And at the bottom of the device registration page is a checkbox for “I agree to receive marketing emails” that can’t be unchecked. I like their panels, but this app is garbage, and I get the impression their company may not be the most ethical you’ve ever seen.... ### 1/5 — App needs a lot of UX attention *2021-03-24, version 2.0.1* The lights are great. However, the app needs a lot of UX attention and the overall CX of the product needs better attention. Directions out of the box are a mess and nothing is intuitive. I had to fumble around to figure out how to put the device into Bluetooth pairing mode (none of that can be found in the literature that comes with the the product, online, or the on-boarding process when you launch the app (there is no on-boarding currently). The user experience of the app is horrible and it’s obvious that there were no UX designers involved in any of the process. Im looking forward to this app improving greatly if the company gives the user experience proper attention. ### 1/5 — Bad app *2021-03-15, version 2.0.1* The app is bad. I could not wven connect it through bluetooth from my iphone xs max (bluetooth on) and the device i purchase for over $200 sirting near the phone and powered in. It keeps searching the device and it could not find it. ### 1/5 — Won't connect to Lumecube 2.0 or Air *2021-03-06, version 2.0.1* I've contacted customer service and suggest I try downloading the firmware through the app and try reinstalling the app. Neither have worked to connect to their lights. Stick with the previous Lume-X version. ### 1/5 — Pairing doesn’t work *2021-03-05, version 2.0.1* New iPhone, New lume cube panel GO. Doesn’t pair. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work with Lume Cube 2.0 *2021-02-25, version 2.0.1* It works nicely with the Panel Pro once you find out how to pair it (from power off press and hold the power button until a Bluetooth logo shows in the little display). For Lume Cube 2.0 it never finds a device. But the old Lume-x app works fine. ### 1/5 — Lume cube *2021-02-24, version 2.0.1* This app doesn’t work with cube 2.0. ### 1/5 — Needs work. *2021-02-23, version 2.0.1* Mirroring some of the other comments, I like their light products, but their software needs serious work. At the time of this writing, this software does not work with the Lumecube 2.0 or Air products, and i to continue using Lume-X. When I brought this us with tech support, their statement was “wow, thats weird”, and didn’t even bother asking for my contact details to try and troubleshoot it. As a result, I am not expecting a fix anytime soon. I hope this doesn’t mean that they are mentally deprecating older products that they are still selling. ### 1/5 — Don’t delete the old app *2021-02-19, version 2.0.1* This app does not work. It will not pair with the Lund cubes. What which one is best to download??? Lazy to not update your advice on which app to download for your Lume Cubes. ### 1/5 — Needs some love *2024-09-21, version 2.0.2* No updates in a long time… Still after all this time can’t set loop colors. When setting a custom color the color selected doesn’t show on the main control page. ### 1/5 — Worst app and product known to man DONT BUY *2023-08-21, version 2.0.2* “Ignore the bad reviews”what a joke I spent 279 dollars on a product with no instructions and a terrible app. I will be returning my product please SAVE YOURESELF THE HASTLE AND DONT BUY THIS. The publicity and ads of this product make it seem way better then it is. You can get better for cheaper. Feels like a 2 dollar piece of equipment marked up 1,000% ### 1/5 — Extremely poor UI design *2023-05-19, version 2.0.2* No fine control over colors. Only as accurate as a thumb can be on a tiny color wheel about the size of a dime. No way to turn off a functional mode. No way to return light to default white color mode. Good light. Very poor App. ### 1/5 — Unnecessary personal info required *2023-04-07, version 2.0.2* The very first thing this app asks for when I try to pair with my Lume Cube 2.0 is a cell number and email. Nope! Sorry, that’s not information that I intend to share for this purpose. The App Privacy disclosure says no data is collected, but that’s an outright lie. ### 1/5 — Good device, bad app *2022-09-27, version 2.0.2* The main problem I have with this app is that you can’t smoothly drag the sliders. After dragging them a small amount, they forget you’re dragging them. This means you have to keep watching your phone, instead of keeping your eyes on the scene you’re trying to light. They should redo the UI with a more reliable system. ### 1/5 — POOR APP design!!! *2022-01-24, version 2.0.2* Great light but the features are not well executed. On the physical device…for white all RGB colors should be set to 255. Well they show 255-0-0. It should be RED. If I move the dial up or down to change colors, the colors do change but returning to the 255-0-0 DOES NOT get me back to white - that is NOT good. The only way to get back to white is to turn off the device/reset it. Then it still reads 255-0-0 , it’s white but it should be RED with those RGB values. NEXT the APP - HORRIBLE!!! At best. It gives me favorite colors….THEY ARE NOT MY FAVORITE since I did not pick them . Let the user ACTUALLY pick their favorite color. Oh….touch the color wheel just slightly and it’s now off center. At WHITE the RGB should read 255-255-255. There is NO WAY to set the color to white at 255-255-255 with your finger!!!! POOR INTERFACE AT BEST…..0005 rating if I could. Give me a WHITE favorite to reset the RGB values!!! So, you have to turn off the device to reset the colt as I mentioned above…but guess what….THE APP DOES NOT SYNCH WITHT HE DEVICE TO UPDATE THE RGB VALUES!!!!! You then need to close the App and then the RGB values are set back to 255-255-255. These should be easy fixes for their developers to make the UI usable. In the current state it’s VERY disappointing! Especially paying $150. Lumecube!!! Make these updates and you’ll have a great product instead of a “LUME” DUCK! My concern is they have not make any improvements all of last year to address any of these shortcomings. Prove me wrong! ### 1/5 — Still a terrible app *2021-11-23, version 2.0.2* After about a year using int these lights for photography and video calls, I love the color panels. So how is the app so bad? Nothing works quite right. Most recent problem: ability to save favorite colors seems to have just disappeared. The color wheel for selecting color is terribly small and inaccurate, even on a large phone. So if you want a specific color, you have to cycle through hundreds of colors manually on the panel. Please fix the app! ### 1/5 — No way to pair on a os device. *2021-11-03, version 2.0.2* Tried EVERYTHING no pairing on a iPhone. ### 1/5 — Seriously lacking… *2021-09-11, version 2.0.2* For the price of a lume cube you would think that developers would actually work on this app. Shame that it’s very limited, in that you can only add 4 cubes to it. Lume-X is better. I’ve actually got 12 cubes I was able to link them all to that app. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Beautiful Product with an easy to use app. *2022-09-17, version 2.0.2* I’ve been wanting to get a Lume Cube ever since I saw one used to illuminate a rock formation at night. I participated in a Milky Way workshop at Joshua Tree National Park. The 15 second shutter speed capture both the illuminated Arch Rock with the Milky Way hovering over it. I couldn’t get over the detail of the rock. It was pitch dark. It was just enough light being sent to match the film speed. ### 5/5 — I Have NO idea what’s going on…. *2022-03-19, version 2.0.2* Holy Crap! I almost didn’t download this app after reading the horrendous reviews… And multiple reviews that stated that the 2.0 LUME CubesWould not pair up with this app! Well, all I have to say is I have the Lumecubes 2.0, and the second I launch the app there they were on the screen ready to pair! All I had to do was hit the button! I’ve never seen pairing so easy! The app is laid out well, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do… So I have no idea the problems that you guys are having, maybe some people just should not have tech! Lol I sure know a LOT of people that just need to stay away from “Tech”, Just doesn’t agree with em! Lol GREAT APP! GREAT LIGHTS! ### 5/5 — Top, super pratique *2022-01-10, version 2.0.2* Je possède un Lumi (Lume Cube Mini) et ça fonctionne super bien, je ne prends plus mes flash speedlights. Je vais sûrement me prendre d’autres modèles pour compléter mon kit, et l’app est un gros plus en environnement contrôlé. ### 5/5 — Not sure about the fuss, was very easy *2021-12-31, version 2.0.2* I received a Lume Cube Pro for Christmas. Upon opening the box, the only instructions were the four steps on the insert and the Pro paired right off. Could not have been easier. The video under “Tutorials “ helped but was not required. I am impressed with the functionality of the app. Only thing missing would be a function to report the charge of the device displayed in the app. It might be there but I did not see it. ### 5/5 — Phenomenal *2021-09-01, version 2.0.2* These review may must be from a different version of this app. The first thing I did was watch the video tutorials, everything works solidly. I just purchased the panel pro and the app is a must-have. ### 4/5 — Works great *2022-09-05, version 2.0.2* I don’t write reviews. I could count the number I’ve written on one hand. But I’m chiming in to counter the preponderance of negative reviews. Sure, it’s not the greatest designed app of all time, but it was extremely easy to set up, pair (using instructions in the app itself), and use with my Panel Pro. It’s a very handy app in that you can change settings much more quickly than on the device, and the RGB color wheel is a nice feature. ### 4/5 — Ignore the other reviews *2021-07-03, version 2.0.2* Besides the bluetooth mode not being shown on the documentation none of the other reviews seem to hold water. The app wants you to register the device serial number by typing in your contact info and it pulls the serial from the bluetooth connection, you dont type it in. The marketing checkbox is off by default and setup took me around 30 seconds. App is super easy to use and i have no complaints ### 4/5 — Update *2020-12-13, version 2.0.1* Bluetooth pairing works if you hold the power button when the light is off. It will put it into pairing mode and then it works great. ### 4/5 — No Bluetooth connection *2020-11-27, version 2.0.1* Panel Pro will not connect to app. No detailed setup directions online despite enclosed literature stating there is. Panel works fine, but greatly disappointed with support. Update: After searching website, found information on how to activate Bluetooth on Panel Pro (watch videos, not intuitive). Hold on/off button for 8 seconds and Bluetooth symbol appears in display.
