## What is Lumen?

Lumen is a beautiful countdown app for the days that matter — the trips you're planning, the milestones you're working toward, the moments you're living for. Light at the end of the tunnel, always in your pocket.

ADD YOUR EVENTS
Create countdowns for anything — trips, birthdays, weddings, holidays, and more. Add a cover photo from your library or search millions of images on Unsplash. Pick an accent color, write a short description, and let Lumen do the rest.

PINNED HEROES
Promote your most important countdowns to the top of your screen as large, beautiful hero cards. Press and hold any event, then drag up to pin it. Up to three events can be pinned at once.

BEAUTIFUL CARDS
Choose from multiple card styles and countdown formats — display days, weeks, months, or a natural language phrase. Pick a font to match the mood of each event. Every card feels personal.

HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
Add a Lumen widget to your home screen and see your countdown at a glance, without even opening the app.

SMART REMINDERS
Never miss a moment. Lumen can remind you a week before, a day before, the morning of, and right at the time of your event. Or turn on a daily summary to stay in tune with what's coming.

MEMORIES
When an event passes, it moves into Memories — a quiet archive of the days you've already lived. Revisit them any time.

ICLOUD SYNC
Your events sync automatically across all your devices via iCloud. Backups are stored in your iCloud account so you can always restore if needed.

IMPORT & EXPORT
Import events directly from your Calendar app, or export your countdowns as a standard .ics file to share or back up.

### 2.0 — 2026-05-27

Live Activities — the headline. Track an event's final stretch right on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a countdown that ticks down on its own (no need to open the app). Start it from any event's menu, and Lumen nudges you to start one in the last 24 hours before the date.
  
Five Live Activity looks — choose from Photo (full-bleed cover), Night, Paper, Accent Gradient, and Accent Tint, via a new picker in Settings → Appearance with a live preview. The two accent styles colour themselves to each event's own accent.
  
Lock Screen widgets — three new accessory sizes (rectangular, circular, inline) to sit alongside the existing Home Screen and StandBy tiles.

Under the hood — version reads correctly from the bundle now (Settings shows 2.0), and the countdown readout is smart about scale: whole days when an event's far off, a live HH:MM:SS ticker only in the final 24 hours.

Get in touch - there's now a contact form right in Settings. Bug reports, feature requests, or just hello.
Smarter daily summaries - the daily notification now shows the right countdown for each day of the next 30 days, instead of repeating the same message every day. Bonus: no more duplicate notifications when a per-event reminder and the daily summary fire at the same time.
Ticker fix - the live countdown ticker now stays accurate past midnight, so "1 day" stays correct even when you're less than 24 hours out but on the next calendar day.
