The page is stripped of pop-ups, trackers, cookie walls, newsletter dialogs, and "related articles" carousels — then handed to a natural narrator that starts reading aloud while you keep walking, cooking, or driving. POCKET AUDIO PLAYER Lumen feels like a podcast app, not a reading app, when you want it to. The big Listen button is on every book and every imported article. Lock-screen controls let you play, pause, scrub, skip back 15 s, or jump chapter without unlocking your phone. AirPods double-tap, CarPlay, Dynamic Island, and Bluetooth headphones all work out of the box. Background audio keeps the narrator going when the screen is off. Fixes a bug where a multi-chapter web novel would lose every chapter it had already downloaded if the screen turned off mid-import. • Lock your phone, walk away, come back — your in-flight downloads pick up exactly where they left off. Previously, locking the device for more than ~30 seconds during a long download could wipe the partial book from the library and force you to start over from chapter 1. Now the already-downloaded chapters stay in your library (and stay readable), and the rest of the scrape resumes automatically the moment you unlock the phone. • Auto-resume across app launches. If iOS shut Lumen down while a 900-chapter import was running, opening the app again now continues the download from the next un-downloaded chapter instead of leaving it paused. Manually paused downloads still wait for you to tap Resume — only OS-initiated pauses auto-restart. • No other user-visible changes in this build. ### 1.0.4 — 2026-05-15 1.0.4 — Download multiple books at once, refresh long web novels for new chapters, start reading before the download finishes. • Start reading while the rest of the book is still downloading. Imported books now appear in the library the moment the first chapter lands, with a "Downloading X of Y" strip across the cover tile. Open the book mid-download and the chapter list fills in live — tap any finished chapter to read or listen while the next ones stream in. • Smarter book covers. Web-imported books now use the source page's social-card / icon artwork when it's available, so freshly imported titles look like themselves instead of a generic gradient. The "Re-generate cover" long-press action remembers the original image source, so legacy books can be refreshed in place. • Downloaded catalog books show a clear "done" state. Once a download from the Catalog finishes, the row swaps the pause/cancel controls for a green checkmark so you can tell at a glance which titles are ready offline. • Search and sort the chapters inside a book. Open any imported book → the toolbar now exposes ascending / descending order plus a filter for "Downloaded only" or "Bookmarked only", on top of the existing chapter-title search. Useful for jumping back into long web novels without scrolling through 600+ rows. • Download multiple books at once. Paste a URL, tap Add, paste another, tap Add again — additional books queue up automatically. Each row shows "Downloaded X of Y chapters · N in queue", a percentage badge, and a tinted progress bar so you always know where you are. • Cross-tab progress at a glance. A pill above the tab bar shows aggregate chapter throughput across every active download; the Add tab also carries a numeric badge for total in-flight imports. Switch to Library, lock your phone, peek at a notification — your imports keep working in the background. • Refresh any web-imported book for new chapters. Toolbar button on the book detail screen, pull-to-refresh on the chapter list, and a "Refresh chapters from source" item in the long-press menu on the library cover. Refresh is additive: existing chapters, bookmarks, highlights, and reading progress are preserved — only newly published chapters are pulled. • Full-TOC import support for long web novels. Lumen now discovers up to 2,000 chapter links per page (previously capped at 400), so books with 600 / 900 / 1,500 chapters import in their entirety instead of silently truncating. If you imported a long book on 1.0.3 and only got the first 400 chapters, a single "Refresh chapters from source" tap pulls in the rest. • Smarter chapter ordering when the TOC starts with "Latest Chapters". Previously the latest-first block could leak into the saved book and produce out-of-order chapters; now Lumen sorts by detected chapter number so the saved book reads 1 → 2 → 3 → … no matter how the source page arranges its links. • Reliable chapter discovery on dense TOC pages. The link extractor now runs before content scrubbing, so chapter list items packed with anchor links (the standard "Chapter N" list-item / link pattern) survive long enough to be discovered. Multi-chapter sites that imported as single-article books on 1.0.3 now import every chapter. • Clearer in-progress UI. The "Download queue" now floats to the top of the Add screen the moment you tap Add, so the row you started is always visible.
