## What is Lumenicer · Video Light Panel?

Lumenicer lets you use an iPhone, iPad or MacBook as a controllable light panel.
Connect it to a TV or projector via AirPlay or HDMI and you get a much larger surface to light a scene with. Your iPhone and Apple Watch work as the remote, so you can adjust everything without walking back to the screen.

I built it because I kept running into the same situation as a cinematographer: small productions, travel shoots, no budget for a proper light kit — but always a few screens within reach.

It's free to use in Light Mode, and you can try the Pro features for 7 days before deciding anything.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Light Mode (free, no time limit, no ads)
· Set color temperature from warm candlelight to cool daylight (2800K–7500K)
· Fine-tune green/magenta tint

Color Mode (Pro)
· Full color wheel to match a scene or set a mood — as saturated as your display can physically show
· Save up to 10 colors so they stay consistent across shooting days
· See / type in HSB, RGB, CMY and HEX values for each color

Effects (Pro)
· Live lighting effects you can send to your big screens: fireplace glow, police lights, party light, TV flicker, strobe, a slow pulse, a lava lamp and a two-color fade
· I add new ones regularly

EDR Boost (Pro)
· Metal-powered ultra-bright mode. Pushes supported Apple displays beyond standard limits (up to 8x brighter)
(Note: Peak brightness and duration depend on your specific device hardware, temperature, and battery level)

A few details that matter on set: a locked fullscreen mode so nothing interrupts the light mid-take, no accidental screen dimming, effects that hold their direction when the phone rotates, haptic feedback and a clean, distraction-free layout. And you can put Lumenicer in Control Center, on the Lock Screen or on the Action button — one tap and the light is on, or straight into Boost when you need maximum output right now.

PRO
Light Mode stays free forever. Pro unlocks Color Mode, all effects and EDR Boost. Start with a 7-day free trial — monthly, annual or a one-time lifetime option.

### 5/5 — Perfect Tool

*2026-06-23*

### 5/5 — Game Changer!

*2026-05-11*

As a hobby photographer, I never really had a solution for good lighting without buying expensive equipment. Lumenicer completely changed that. I use my TV as a softbox and the results actually look professional. The color temperature can be adjusted very precisely, the effects are a great bonus, and the price-to-performance ratio is unbeatable. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Best screen light app for photo & video

*2026-05-11*

Been using Lumenicer for about a week now for photos and video, and it’s already become a regular part of my workflow. The Light Mode lets you adjust color temperature from warm to cool (2800K–7500K) which makes a real difference when you just want nice, clean light without any extra gear.

The effects are a lot of fun too. Fire, Copcar, Party – they actually work great as creative lighting for video shoots. Stuff that would normally take a whole setup to pull off.

AirPlay support is a big one for me. Being able to stream the light wirelessly to a TV or projector and just use my iPhone as a remote is super convenient. And with Apple Watch control on top of that, I barely have to touch my phone while shooting.

If you do photos or videos and want a simple, creative light source using screens you already own – just get it. Does exactly what it says.

### 5/5 — voll gut!

*2026-04-19*

ich hab damit ganz einfach schöne passbilder von zuhause aus gemacht :)
einfach und leicht zu bedienen!

### 5/5 — Love it!!!

*2026-04-18*

Had to shoot an interview at a hotel room, we’ve been late with everything and daylight was already gone. Saw the huge tv on the wall and this app was exactly what I needed to turn it into a soft film light and the shot looked so good that my client thought it was on purpose! Thx a lot, looking forward to what’s coming in the future ❤️

### 5/5 — Dismissed it. Then startet using it.

*2026-04-11*

Thought this was a novelty app. Screens as lights — okay, sure, why not. Then I actually used it for a client shoot and stopped questioning it.
The white balance control alone (2800K to 7500K, with tint adjustment) makes it more useful than half the physical panels I’ve carried. The color mode is precise enough for real work. And the Apple Watch control is the thing that sold me completely — adjusting brightness mid-interview without touching the iPad is just… that’s how it should work.
Price: fair point, it’s not free. But I’ve paid more for accessories that do less. If you’re using this professionally, the Pro features are not optional, they’re the product.
It’s not replacing a proper light kit. But it’s always in your bag because your phone is always in your bag. That matters more than people realize.

### 5/5 — Very useful and easy to use

*2026-04-09*

Typically, I only shoot photos and videos using natural light. However, since I can also use this app on my iPad, iPhone, and Mac, I’ve started to enjoy manually lighting my scenes as well. The app is super easy to use and, even as a beginner, it’s perfect for creating unique lighting situations.

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2026-04-08*

Does exactly what's promised! Thanks for this useful tool!

### 5/5 — Useful App for enthusiasts & professionals!

*2026-04-07*

Easy to use, very intuitive & cool effects.
Looking forward to even more functions!
