## What is LumiFrame?

The digital photo frame, without the frame.

LumiFrame turns the screens you already own into beautiful, always-current photo and video displays. Set up a tablet on the counter, the TV in the living room, or a screen at your event, and let your favorite media play, automatically.

It is more than a slideshow. Create albums, share them with the people you choose, collect media from event guests, and keep every display in sync from one place.

DISPLAY
- Elegant slideshows with themes, smooth transitions, and gentle motion
- Photos and videos, portrait or landscape, sized to look right on each screen
- An always-current display that updates itself as new media arrive

SHARE
- Create albums and invite people to view or contribute
- Everyone sees the latest, across every screen you share
- Granular controls over who can add and who can view

EVENTS
- Collect photos from guests with a QR code, no app required for them
- Show them live on the big screen as the day unfolds
- Keep them as a shared album long after the event ends

CAST AND MANAGE
- Cast a living slideshow to supported TVs
- On paid plans, run several displays at once and drive any of them from any of your devices

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
- Your albums stay private unless you choose to share them
- You decide who can view and who can contribute
- Comments in shared albums are moderated to keep conversations respectful

Start free. Paid plans add more displays, video in slideshows, TV casting, and event albums.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.0 — 2026-08-16

Events now feel live: new guest photos can join the running slideshow as they arrive, and event activity updates in real time. Hosts can choose how long uploads stay open after an event, while guests can return later without losing their place. Albums, Activity, invitations, media rendering, and slideshow playback are smoother and more reliable.

### 1.8.1 — 2026-08-12

Media uploads and album invitations are more reliable, Events are easier to reach from your library, and assorted slideshow, album, and background-task issues have been fixed. This update also includes performance and stability improvements.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-08-09

Sign in on as many devices as you like. Your plan now counts frames, the screens actually showing your photos, so pressing Play on a new device simply offers to make it one.

Frame Insights runs on what your frames really played: hours of light and photos shown by week, month or year, with each frame's own history a tap away. A frame that quietly dies now admits it is offline instead of insisting all is well.

You are no longer buzzed about something you just did on the device in your hand, and deleting a notification clears it everywhere at once.

Adding photos LumiFrame already has is dramatically faster. You can now rename your devices, mute a particular frame's alerts, and see everything signed in from account settings.

No ads, ever. Quieter reliability fixes underneath.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-08-06

Photos that are already there.

Your library stops reloading itself. Open an album, go back, open it again: the photos are simply there instead of being rebuilt each time. Large albums scroll more smoothly, because the app is no longer decoding pictures in the background while it is also trying to animate.

Album covers now use a small version of the photo instead of quietly downloading the full-size original, so screens fill in faster on a slower connection. LumiFrame also asks permission to show your own photos far less often, which used to interrupt a long browse every fifteen minutes.

Nothing blinks anymore. Photos no longer flash the first time you open them full screen, and videos hold their poster until they genuinely have a frame to play. Where a picture has not arrived yet you get a soft blurred impression of it rather than an empty box.

Smaller things: a back-to-top button for long albums, slideshow playback and the photo viewer no longer competing over the same video, and steadier behaviour when the device is short on memory.

### 1.6.6 — 2026-08-04

Clearer notifications. Deleted photos stay gone. Albums and uploads are more reliable.
