Trying to switch cameras causes instant crash. ### 5/5 — Handy App and Great App Support *2016-02-04* I sometimes forget my glasses in my backpack. I don't use Lumin often but love it when I need it. I recently opened the app and got an error saying it cannot use back camera. I tried switching camera and the app closes. I even uninstalled and reinstalled. I emailed App Support and got a quick response. For some reason (probably an iOS update), the permission to use camera was switched off. 👍🏽 Thank you App Support. ### 5/5 — Best *2016-01-15, version 3.0* This app has been on my front page for years. ### 5/5 — A Very Useful App *2015-11-06* If you like to see things in great details (the knit pattern of your fine linen/sheets; each hair on you bird's feather; the tiny prints of anything, etc.), get this app. This is a fun and useful app! (Although this app is intuitive and easy to use, I do wish someone could tell me how to delete the pictures from the app... And by the way, Lumin's Setting is located in iPhone's Setting. All that displays is a black screen. If you read the 1 star ratings, you can see many people have this complaint. Have used this program for years and it was on my favorite apps list. Does not look like it has been updated since 2014. The developer has had plenty of time to update this app, but has not done so. My rating ### 1/5 — Has Become Useless *2019-02-11, version 3.0* It is unfortunate that the “Support” link goes nowhere and going to this Developer’s website you are just bombarded with advertising but still no support. With a recent iOS update Lumin now presents with a black screen and no longer displays the intended image. Deleting Lumin and reinstalling has caused no improvement. This is really too bad to see a slick and useful App such as Lumin fade away. The only solution left is to just delete it and look for a replacement. ### 1/5 — Change phones now no camera *2019-02-09* I have had no developer contact and cannot find support for this app anywhere. It has been a good out but now I am really ticked I would give it a zero if possible. I have been using Lumin for years and have been very pleased and satisfied with the product. I have two iPhones one for work where I work with the blind in the other personal. I just upgraded my new phone and the camera will not work.I have been all over the website looking for support or someplace to contact support and cannot find any such thing. Update 06-2019 Abandoned app, what a shame App takes photos and saves them to the tray in a bizarre order. That’s it. It’s all but dead, what a pity, abandoned app, no updates for years. Too bad. I used to use this all the time. Now I can’t save to my camera roll. 😭 can you please fix this? Update 10-2018 App saves photo to the the tray in an odd order. Definitely not in the order take. It is an elegant “magnifying glass” utility that does the job extremely well. Whenever I share an image I’ve captured, it invariably draws raves and I get asked how I took such an amazing close up. Please keep this wonderful utility updated and available. I dread the day when I upgrade my phone or OS and Lumin stops working. In fact I’m writing this review after thinking about how to support the developers and encouraging them to keep this app updated. Thank you again for creating such a useful application! Update: Lumin now shows “Failed with error - 11852 Cannot use Back Camera”. I haven’t used Lumin in a few months so am very sad that it has stopped working in iOS 12.3 on my iPhone 7+. ### 5/5 — 8+ needs help *2019-01-10, version 3.0* I have loved this app since I first put it on my 4S several years ago. It works very well on my 6+ and my iPad Pro third generation. But for some reason I cannot make it work on the 8+. I can view previously saved images, but I cannot create new images as it always shows the screen to be black. I hope something can be done to correct this problem.PLEASE!!! I'll be on vacation and volunteering where I need to read tiny print. Lumin adds a tool to my phone. It still works great even in ios9 & w my 6s plus. Read and save tiny print on game cards or circuit boards. Great app elegant & flexible.
