## What is LumiRoll?

LumiRoll is a camera and photo editor that applies the color and texture of each film look consistently to every photo and adds a dedicated video mode with recorded audio.

### 1.8 — 2026-08-20

Film rendering has been rebuilt. Every stock now follows its own characteristic curve, so blacks are genuinely black, slide films are contrastier, and black and white keeps its highlights. The same film will not look the same as it did before.

Manual shutter speed now actually reaches the sensor, and the crash at fast shutter speeds is fixed. The fisheye lens bends the picture properly — it is a change of projection now, not a wobble at the edges — and a tilt-shift lens has been added.

The 35mm film roll has been rebuilt to the real 135 standard: perforations sit at their true size and pitch, and the frames either side of your photograph are the pictures you took before it. The 8mm look now moves as one piece of film, with the grain and dust running across the sprocket holes rather than stopping at the frame.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-15

Added five built-in looks: Orange Green Smooth, Clear Smooth, Hard Tealed Orange, Faded Teal, and Faded Warmness. Each uses fine monochrome grain tuned to stay subtle. Film rendering was also retuned across illuminants, halation, highlights, and similar looks, with two black-and-white stocks and a new infrared mode.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-10

Fixed the app quitting while developing a photo on older devices. Retuned film grain to match how the real stocks behave — Portra 400, Ektar 100, Acros 100 and T-Max 100 are finer now, and Vision3 500T sits where its speed belongs. Added the 1.90:1 aspect ratio, and developing and saving now show progress. Photos taken in landscape save in landscape, with the date stamp placed to match the frame.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-05

Video recordings now save with the selected FILM, 8MM, TAPE, DIGITAL, or GlowMatic look and recorded sound. The timecode stops immediately when recording ends, while clear finishing, developing, and saving states show progress. We also improved front/rear camera switching, video save reliability, and film-grain texture across all looks.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-31

Silent video mode is now available with a dedicated red record button. Photo and video selections switch cleanly, and instant-film photos now save directly without the drawing step. Camera and saving permission descriptions were updated for photos and videos.
