## What is Lumographe Early?

Lumographe Early is a DMX512 lighting console for iPad and iPhone. It is built for lighting designers, board operators, technicians and venue crews who prepare, rehearse and run a show.

EVERYTHING IS UNLOCKED
No feature is gated. No in-app purchases, no subscription, no ads shown.

PATCH
Patch from a library of fixtures and DMX modes, or describe your own profiles. Every fixture exposes its real parameters: intensity, RGB and RGBW colour, variable white, green/magenta tint, strobe, pan and tilt, gobos, prism, zoom.

CELLS AND FADERS
A cell table to select, group, filter and edit live. Faders that show exactly what the engine sends, channel by channel, with no drift between the screen and the output.

SCENES, EFFECTS, TIMELINES
Store scenes and recall them with a fade. Build effects (chases, sine, fire, random, rainbow) and drop them onto a selection. Record timelines live, chain sequences, edit them step by step.

LIGHTING PLOT
Place your fixtures on a plot, annotate it, export it, and control the rig straight from the plot.

DJ MODE
A dedicated trigger surface: scene pads, assignable faders, tempo-locked effects.

REAL DMX OUTPUT
Art-Net and sACN to a node on the local network, wireless Bluetooth DMX nodes, DMX input, up to 256 universes. Output status stays visible at all times: what is being sent, on which universe, to which target.

CONTROL AND SYNC
OSC, MIDI with learn on faders and scenes, LTC timecode through the audio input, HomeKit lights alongside DMX, and the Tournesol bridge (ESP32-S3) to follow the sun.

SHARED SET
Several iPads and iPhones on the same show, over local Wi-Fi or the Internet. Every participant has a colour, and you can see who just touched what.

BUILT-IN SIMULATOR
A 512-channel DMX simulator lets you patch, program and rehearse without a single fixture plugged in. It is also the fastest way to discover the app.

PRIVACY
Your projects stay on your device. An account is optional: it covers cloud backup, the shared set and your settings following you across devices. Crash reporting and usage statistics can be switched off in the settings. With your consent in Settings and the iOS tracking permission for Google, the app measures which ads lead to its install; your projects are never shared.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.8 — 2026-10-07

• 3D plot under DMX: moving lights follow DMX (tilt, CMY colour, iris, frost, speeds, shutter), pan-only yokes too; the plot’s faders, buttons and virtual tiles work in 3D.
• RDM Autopatch: discovered fixtures get their mode and address written, then are patched in one gesture; a preferred mode is remembered for each model.
• Mode presets: long-press a source › “Mode presets…” to save its settings in one tap, apply them again, or pick the ones a new patch starts with.
• REC DMX: the button that records DMX to a timeline is labelled so everywhere, so it is never confused with the 3D camera’s REC.
• Groups: “Create group”, and a dedicated editor on long press to reorder, add or remove sources.
• Grid: the selection bar moves to the top, under Pillbox / Table; it no longer covers the tiles or the pads panel.
• Cleaner 3D plot: a single top bar, everything else under “More”; the Selection panel in sections as in 2D; no more overlapping buttons on iPhone.
• Diffusion frames: standard or custom size, adjustable material (Lee, Rosco) and distance; physically accurate light and shadows, sunlight included.
• Tournesol in 3D: the real motorised mirror; “Aim” sends the sun to the chosen point, and reflected beams are visible.
• Camera moves: path previewed in 2D and 3D, summed up in one line, with a preview slider.
• 3D plot: truss load plans, snapping, hiding an item in one view only, a drop preview while moving, smoother rendering in motion; overload warnings can be turned on in Display.
• Many fixes.

### 1.1.7 — 2026-10-06

• Square pads: effects, timelines, sequences and scene suites start with a tap, pause with a second one and stop with the small ■; long-press a scene for its tree (linked effects with delay and rise time, timelines and sequence it starts); Faders | Grid | Plot switch; loading bars with a percentage; 3D plot: “Place” in the dock, a movable quick wheel, a “Move” mode with a floor preview, and Select, Orbit and Multiple tools.
• Lighter interface: Simplified, Intermediate or Advanced levels (Settings); one bar for the pads, the Grid and Faders; a single REC on screen.
• 3D lighting plot: 2D | 3D switch on the same plot, live light, walk-through, view from a fixture, realistic stands, rigging, set dressing, trusses and accessories; import of objects and room scans (GLB, glTF); connected walls become one structure; MetaHuman characters; a camera set up like on set, in a “Camera” card.
• Real photometry in 3D: measured fixture sheets, grids and diffusion, IES, EULUMDAT and GDTF files; each fixture’s lamp (dimming, tungsten, CCT); one exposure per camera (automatic, white balance, false colour); daylight.
• Prepare: layout variants, setup times, typical diagrams, shared setups, plot sheet, capture and look boards, truck and cables, power budget per circuit and phase.
• RecceBoard-style shots: film each camera shot in the app or import it, placed on the plot with focal length, frame lines, field cone and video loop; contact sheet and export.
• Lumographer: Round, Soft, Airbrush and Line brushes, animated brushes and a wheel to switch them in one gesture, with the Pencil too.
• Sequences: accurate audio (trim, speed, detailed waveform), every edit undoable, named markers, overlaps flagged; view options grouped together.
• Scenes: effect state remembered (playing, paused on a frozen frame, stopped) and reached with a value or speed fade, in Live too; “Overlap launches” mode; an effect fade time of its own; pixel mapping and gradients stored in the scene; tiles showing effects and fades.
• CCT ⇄ colour crossfade (SkyPanel…) on the scene and sequence fade time, with no sudden jump; A/B crossfade between two effects with crossfader and GO; the scene crossfader also carries FX fixtures.
• Smoother effects: a single clock, the engine’s; large rigs run smoother and the plot or faders never slow DMX output.
• FX Builder: precise speed and tempo, colour cycles up to 10 Hz, custom gradients and palettes; a “Random” chaser; paused or step effects let CCT and colour through.
• Pixel sources: one master tile that folds or unfolds in place, remembered in every view. Group fixtures, and a group editor on long press.
• Projects: content lives in a verified file, with no size limit, never replaced without a copy.
• Lighting plot shared over the Internet: a link and a QR code, only the drawing travels; DMX stays on the local network.
• Tournesol: “Resume DMX” re-reads the state then restores torque and control.
• ARRI SkyPanel X: strobe no longer launches zone macros; Creamsource Vortex8: xy modes.
• Timeline REC from the top bar and the Timeline Pad; command line (selection order, value fans, sending to an effect); CSV and lighting plot exports; named gobos and prisms.
• New fixture thumbnails, single-line labels and many fixes.

### 1.1.6 — 2026-10-02

• Pan and Tilt regain normal-sized faders, with their distinct design.
• Elation FUZE Max Profile and Spot: modes match the Elation manuals (framing shutters, gobos, shutter…).
• Control panel: each repeated framing shutter or wheel controls its own slot, on every affected fixture.
• A fixed gobo no longer rotates the rotating gobo wheel.
• The speed of Sparkle, Storm and Random effects (Lightning, Broken bulb, Fireworks, Paparazzi…) is now applied, both in FX Builder and on FX fixtures.
• Strobe: “Bursts” now takes effect, and can be driven from an FX fixture, synced to the tempo.
• Looping gradients: every fixture gets its own color; the first and last no longer repeat.
• FX fixtures: direction, palette, path, hue rotation and gradient colors can be driven from faders, cells and scenes; FX Builder: one setting, one row.

• New fixture thumbnails in the catalogue, patch, cells and fire plot.
• Fire Plot and DMX Console home screens, remembered choice, right-side library, fixture and grip symbols, beam controls.
• Animated color layers: shapes, gradients, sequences and MIDI controls.
• Corrected color modes: SkyPanel X, STORM 1200x/1000c and PavoSlim 240C/240CL.
• Simpler macros, command and setting recording, live numbered activity log.
• Precise fader entry, accessible history and clearer Live/Manual scene controls.
• Animated gradients with one to eight colors, presets, plot paths and hue rotation; gradient videos and MP4 export for pixel mapping.
• Double-tap a fixture for its control panel in Grid, Table and on iPhone. Faders use percentages by default.
• Wider panels, easier-to-grab sliders, larger and separate value/reset controls, bigger Pilot button.
• Plot: movable names and values, adjustable size, 45° guides, Recenter, cameras, two-finger zoom and unified symbols.
• Import Cinecyclop’s “DMX Export” in the Patch.
• Global search finds previously used nodes without re-entering addresses, on every Wi-Fi or wired network card.
• LAN: QR joining no longer stalls, simpler panel, plot moves at 30 frames/s and everyone’s position in the plot sequence.
• One CCT and Green/Magenta per fixture, even with several color engines (Nanlux Evoke 900C); Green/Magenta reaches each engine.
• Larger fader values with tap-to-type entry; keyboard OK button in faders and the control panel.
• Moving a fixture follows your finger after rotating the plot view.
• Bluetooth DMX nodes detected and controllable: Godox TimoLink TRX, LumenRadio TimoTwo and generic nodes; output universe and visible errors.
• Connections: choose your Cerise, Art-Net/sACN or Bluetooth node for its integration; green status dot while transmitting.
• Voice: “2400B”, “2400 B” and “twenty-four hundred B” recognized; fixture-number priority, execution at sentence end or with Finish.
• Plot: To place, Selection and Layers via the separate Panel button; tapping beneath the docked panel no longer places fixtures.
• Green/Magenta reads correctly in Grid and the long-press editor; long values shorten on narrow columns.
• Nanlux Evoke 2400B: four ULTIMATE fan speed steps.
• Cameras and Rotation sub-docks: recall/save, padlock for rotation lock, back to 0° and 45° steps.
• Rewritten mode descriptions, shutters open at start; SkyPanel X and DMG DASH HSI + CCT modes start correctly.

### 1.1.5 — 2026-09-26

Refined lighting plot and control

• Cable selection stays stable when Wi-Fi is enabled; MIDI and DMX discovery are separate. Tournesol connection and DMX PAN travel selection are adjusted.
• Faders and PC gain a joystick, cross and three speeds. Full-screen PC panels make better use of space.
• The lighting plot supports group transforms, two-finger canvas rotation, softer beams and new snapping, guide and export settings. LAN peers preview moves before drop. The library is optimized and images move after a long press. Move groups in Selection mode and join walls into a shared structure. Drag the Tools and top dock shortcuts to reposition them.
• CCT, Hue and Tint values follow their colors; fixtures without approved thumbnails show a model marker.
• The Patch guide follows real actions. The FX library starts empty; recipes and presets appear in New Effect.
• Voice commands are in beta, disabled and hidden by default. Enable them in Settings > Voice commands — Beta to control fixtures, groups and scenes by voice. Apple on-device recognition is preferred on compatible devices running iOS or iPadOS 26; Whisper remains available as an on-device alternative. Setup progress and the live transcript stay visible. The parser accepts more phrasings and uncertain interpretations require confirmation. Adjust the microphone threshold in dBFS, gain, noise reduction and end-of-phrase silence; test the microphone level without executing commands.

Tournesol: assisted PAN/TILT placement, hold here and per-axis locks. Consistent commands across cockpit, faders and control panels. Numbered memories with explicit recall, grouped advanced settings and saved resistance on compatible devices. Improved buttons and readability.

In the Grid view, tap an empty area to deselect everything. In the lighting plot, double-tap a fixture to open its control panel. On iPhone, controls collapse in landscape to keep the grid visible. DMX startup waits for the project to be fully restored. In the lighting plot, Selection adds elements, Hand replaces the selection, and double-tap opens controls for the touched fixture only, including when the panel is already open. LAN recovery now handles encoding failures. Visible node searches immediately cover the wired neighborhood, including Cerise 66 1U and 2U. The plot selection bubble stays near visible elements and accounts for side panels. The Scenes / Pads button floats directly over the plot without a strip or reserved margin, whether the panel is open or collapsed.

### 1.1.4 — 2026-09-21

A/B crossfaders and collaboration

• Find A/B crossfaders directly in Scenes, with clearer scene names and percentages.
• Small A/B movements and the 0/100% endpoints synchronize more precisely between participants. Controls follow session permissions.
• Recalling a scene takes priority and resets the A/B fader to zero, even when an A/B position was stored.
• Link compatible controls across fixtures from the fixture list.
• Lighting plot: A/B fader creation, clearer settings, richer action buttons and two-touch shape adjustment.
• Stability, patching and layout improvements on iPhone and iPad.
