I can use my iPad as a secondary screen with Luna, but Luna only works well on a wired connection, otherwise it’s quite clunky ### 5/5 — Turns my M4 iPad Pro into a Studio Display mini *2025-03-14, version 5.3.5* The 13-inch iPad Pro with tandem OLEDs and glorious nano-texture display is the apogee of tablets to date, even if it is an egregious upsell. So why not recoup that cost through use as a kind of Studio Display mini? Attached to the KU XIU magnetic charging stand that sits atop the Mac mini, the iPad Pro is now a 4K display powered by the Mac Mini. The Lumia Display adapter and software lets me access the mini through wireless or wired connection, and Apple's Universal control means the Mac keyboard and trackpad seamlessly switch between mini and iPad. As cliched as "It just works!" has become, applies without irony to Luna Display. ### 5/5 — Worth every penny! This is simply the best of the best. The performance, latency and quality is insane. That dongle is worth every penny! You can use the pencil which is only useful up to a point, there’s no right clicking, so you’re going to need a mouse regardless. Also there’s no onscreen keyboard which again is pretty annoying for a mobile solution. If you use Settings to force Luna Display output to 16:9, it will just add black borders within the same 4:3 window. Until that bug is fixed, I must reduce my 5-star rating to 2-stars. Their contact us page brings you to an faq, their support page brings you to an faq, the ask us a question takes you to… you guessed it the same damn faq with no way to give user input or get any sort of support in any way at all. So I’m just screwed. Do better. I even contacted them on several social medias, again ZERO response. ### 1/5 — Not recommended *2025-11-23, version 5.3.5* The software works via internet with so much latency and low quality. It works with cable fine. Most horrible is time to time it just doesn’t work specifically with iOS updates. It‘s a guess and you pay for it. Also the latency Even with a cable is nowhere near advertised. I get link 20 fps if at all. Spacedesk is free and gets around 40. Don’t be fooled by Marketing. I have absolutely no idea why it works when it does (which is about 5% of the time) so I can’t replicate the problem or the solution. So unreliable. Trying to troubleshoot as per their advice was so complicated also. Do yourself a favour - avoid this. There are other iOS apps which just work out of the box without the frustration this gives. ### 1/5 — Does not work anymore *2024-02-22, version 5.3.3* I used to use this app to make my iPad a second screen for my work computer. However, after a year of not using the app and then updating the app, I cannot connect the iPad to my laptop via Wi-Fi. I am able to connect via cable, but in doing so I cannot keep my iPad charged which defeats the purpose. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY, just buy a second portable monitor (Lepow is great), which has much better connection anyways. Now also using it to make my iPad a second display when I'm not at home.
