## What is Lunar Patrol?

The moon's night side. One buggy, three wheels, and a horizon full of things
that want you stopped.

Craters break open in front of you, deep enough to swallow the buggy whole.
Tanks dig in and shell you from range. Striders come over the ridge on three
legs, tall enough that a low shot passes clean underneath. Saucers strafe
overhead. Trains of linked fliers snake across the sky in one long chain. And
every so often the sky itself comes down: a meteor, burning all the way in,
digging a fresh crater in the ground up ahead.

You have a gun that fires forward and up, a jump, a throttle — and nothing
else. The gun runs hot: lean on the trigger and it jams, and a jammed gun just
coughs at you until it cools. Pick your shots.

TAKE THE HIGH ROAD
Hovering decks hang over the worst of the ground. Land on one and the pit
underneath stops mattering; there is usually a fuel cell up there worth the
detour. You can also just jump the hole. That choice, made at speed, is the
game.

LEARN IT IN FIVE SECONDS
Two thumbs. Left side speeds you up and slows you down, right side jumps and
shoots. No tutorial, no menus between you and the game.

READ IT AT A GLANCE
Everything is drawn in the same near-black and lit only at the edges, and the
edge colour tells you what a thing is. Red hunts you. Magenta is the
elite hardware — the striders and the chained fliers. Green is something you
can stand on. Pale blue is terrain — jump
it. Cyan is you. You will never wonder what a thing on screen is for.

BUILT TO BE REPLAYED
Levels get longer and meaner, and the sky changes colour as you cross into new
regions. Checkpoints keep you honest without sending you back to the start.
Game Center leaderboards and achievements if you want to know where you stand.

PLAYS ANYWHERE
No account, no ads, no internet needed. Works on iPhone and iPad, in landscape,
with everything running on your device.

FREE TO PLAY, HONESTLY
Two minutes a day free, in full — no locked levels, no energy meters. After
that your buggy is stuck at double speed until tomorrow, which is playable but
punishing. One in-app purchase removes the limit permanently. That's the only
purchase in the app, and there are no subscriptions.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.86 — 2026-08-31

NEW GROUND, NEW SKY, AND A GUN THAT GETS HOT

Hovering decks. Land on one while falling and the crater underneath stops being
your problem. Most carry a fuel cell worth going up for, and they now run long
enough to actually land on rather than sail over.

The gun overheats. Hold the trigger and it jams, then coughs at you until it
cools. Steady fire is fine; leaning on it is not. It changes how you take a
crowded stretch of road.

Chained fliers. Trains of linked pods that snake across the sky on one path.
Shoot them out of the chain one at a time; clear a whole train for a bonus.

Striders. Tall three-legged hostiles that come over the ridge fast. A shot
taken at the wrong moment passes straight under one mid-stride.

Meteors. They burn all the way in and dig a crater where they land. You can
shoot them down before they do.

ALSO
- The buggy is half the size it was, so you can see what is coming
- Decks and fuel cells now appear from the very first level
- Craters are wider and deeper, with a lit lip and edge markers you can read at
  speed
- Explosions rebuilt: shockwave rings, ballistic sparks, embers, lingering dust
- The camera shakes, and a death pushes it in and slows time for a beat
- A ringed planet, aurora over the horizon, a third mountain layer, shooting
  stars
- Score tags rise off every kill
- Fixed: speed streaks that could be mistaken for incoming fire, and shooting
stars that flew through the play field at chassis height

### 1.0.75 — 2026-08-24

A COMPLETE NEW LOOK
The whole game has been redrawn for the lunar night. Every vehicle, rock and
mine is now a dark silhouette lit only at its edges — and the edge colour tells
you what it is. Red hunts you, pale blue is terrain, cyan is you.

- Every sprite redrawn: buggy, tanks, alien cars, saucers, boulders, mines
- New app icon
- HUD pulled back so it stops competing with the game
- Clearer wording on the daily limit throughout

### 1.0.67 — 2026-08-10

The patrol just got richer:

• GAME CENTER — new achievements and a high-score leaderboard. Down a UFO, push deep into the patrol, and hit the 10,000-point mark.

• DEEPER TERRAIN — the lunar sky now shifts through new colour zones the further you drive, so long runs feel like fresh ground.

• A LOOPING SOUNDTRACK to ride to.

• Polish and fixes throughout.

Boots on the regolith, commander.
