## What is Lunify?

The moon has always been with us — when sowing, when cutting hair, when coming to rest. Lunify shows you, quietly and reliably, where it stands right now and which days are traditionally considered favorable.

At a glance you see the phase, the moon's sign and how much of the disc is lit, along with moonrise and moonset for your location. The calendar shows every month with its full and new moons, and you can keep a note for each day — for an intention at the new moon as much as for looking back at the full moon.

The moon guide gathers the old rules of the farmers' almanac and folklore for garden and sowing days, hair, kitchen, home and rest. It tells you what is traditionally considered favorable today, and says just as openly that none of it is scientifically proven.

On Apple Watch the moon is on your wrist: phase and illumination, the next main phases, and on your watch face how many days are left until the next full moon. Moonrise and moonset come from your iPhone.

When a lunar eclipse is coming, a card appears a few days before with the times for your location — and an honest answer as to whether you will see any of it at all.

Widgets for the Home and Lock Screen, Siri and Shortcuts, quiet reminders for full and new moon, adding the dates to your calendar and a daily card to share round off Lunify.

Everything is calculated right on your device, using the formulas of Jean Meeus. Lunify needs neither an account nor internet, shows no ads and collects no data.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-10-28

Mondweiser is now called Lunify — and comes to Apple Watch, with its own app, the moon phase on your watch face and the days until the next full moon. Moonrise and moonset come from your iPhone.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-24

Mondweiser has been rebuilt from the ground up. The moon disc now shows exactly how much is lit, and the calendar marks full and new moon on the day they actually occur. The eclipse list through 2030 gains two penumbral eclipses, and Mondweiser is now available in English.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-15

No release notes.
