## What is Lutheran Radio?

Lutheran Radio is a live streaming app for Lutheran talk radio. The main program is in Finnish, 24/7. Experimental streams in English, Estonian, German, and Swedish run when they are on air.

Listen to sermons, Bible studies, theological discussions, and Lutheran teaching — free, on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The app itself is localized in 29 languages.

Eight more languages in the app: Greek, Albanian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovenian, and Croatian now have a full interface—29 languages in all.
Siri in every supported language: Spoken shortcuts to start, stop, and play a language are no longer English-only.
Playback from the keyboard: On iPad and Mac, Space plays or pauses; the Playback menu steps to the previous or next language.
Light taps for play and pause: A brief tap when sound starts, and a light tap when you pause.

Stronger stream protection: The live certificate pin is renewed, and only the current certificate is accepted—keeping everyday listening secure against tampering.
Clean exit, clean system surfaces: Live Activities and system Now Playing clear when you quit, so Dynamic Island and the Lock Screen don’t keep looking live after the app is gone.
Honest Connecting until sound starts: The player stays on Connecting until audio actually begins—smoother language switches, recovery, and cold starts, without a stuck “playing” or yellow status after quit.
Privacy-minded cold launch: No leftover playing state on the Lock Screen or in Control Center after quit, force-quit, or reboot—widgets and media chrome stay honest when the app isn’t running.

Stronger security model protection: DNS responses for approved app versions are now strictly DNSSEC-validated end-to-end before being trusted, closing potential tampering vectors and making the secure streaming foundation even more robust.
New sleep timer dialog with privacy controls: A new sleep timer dialog lets you set a timer and instantly clear local state or playback data, with clear visual confirmation when data is reset.
Modern native launch and volume experience: The app now opens with Apple’s crisp modern launch screen and uses the system’s own built-in volume control, for a smoother and more consistent feel from the very first moment.
Smoother playback and reliable widgets: Stream switching and failure recovery are more robust, and the tuning indicator feels snappier. Home Screen widgets, Control Center, and Dynamic Island now update instantly with the current program. The Lock Screen widget displays detailed, up-to-date program information with no stale data.

Major stability and crash resistance: safer handling of background tasks makes everything much more reliable.
Widgets and Live Activities are now reliably correct: Home Screen, Control Center, and Lock Screen/Dynamic Island show the right station and status instantly with no stale information.
The tuning indicator now snaps perfectly: The needle now locks accurately onto the selected station right from cold start.
Full Dutch, Gagauz and Spanish language support: Now 21 languages total.
