I’m sure it’s difficult economically to keep them up to date but it’s dishonest to keep selling these guides with out of date info. At least they should be labeled as historical and buyer beware. ### 2/5 — Luxe Guide - out of date as of 2023 *2023-08-02* I have been using luxe guides since 2003 and purchased the full digital set in June 2023. Unfortunately most of these (eg Hong Kong, Istanbul, London) are 2+years out of date (post covid) with simple info available on most tourist sites - vey disappointing as Luxe used to be great with unique insights ### 5/5 — Luxe guides for trip from Vietnam and Cambodia to Bangkok *2023-03-11* I used the guides for Hanoi, Ho Ci Minh City, Cambodia and Bangkok and found them spot on. The App is easier to follow and it’s easier to find some hard to get to locations. However, since COVID I have bought 3 and they were all outdated. Many of the shops and restaurants have been permanently closed but the Luxe guide doesn’t say so. They need to be updated. Might be good to cross reference but perhaps Luxe is only advertising businesses that pay them to promote those businesses which would be a real disappointment. Further, I have bought several of these guides yet they have an update or when you try to restore your purchase you still cannot get access to a guide previously purchased that isn’t right because the consumer has already purchased it - so clearly they are just charging twice - they need to fix this or be more transparent in their costs if they are charging you multiple times for the same application- I feel ripped off. ### 1/5 — Out of date poor service *2023-01-26* I would never buy from Luxe again. 50% of the locations are closed. When I complained they offered me a “free guide” through a link that didn’t work. Then suggested I lie to Apple to get a refund. Total shonks, sad because Luxe used to be great. ### 1/5 — So disappointing! *2022-08-15* I used to purchase the paper versions before covid and always found it great. Perfect for finding those cool understated luxury gems. When I purchased the Bangkok edition last week, there were only a handful of suggestions which would barely cover a envelope with outdated photos and places which are very off brand for Luxe. Don’t bother. ### 1/5 — Highly INACCURATE *2022-05-25* This is the second time I have tried to use this app. in Italy, specifically Florence. The information is out of date, wrong or just not true. Really sad that you are advertising the best of the best, yet your information is wrong. I’d like a refund. ### 1/5 — Not available offline *2018-12-05* This app requires a daily update so can’t be used offline. The update process seems prone to crashing so even with an internet connection I’m currently unable to use any feature of the app as the update won’t complete. There is no customer support to resolve this. It’s such a shame as it looks like a wonderful app but I can’t use it. **Developer response:** Dear Laura, we are sorry you have encountered problems with the app. The LUXE app does not require daily updates once you finish the initial download and you can use it offline. We have replied you via mobile@luxecityguides.com, please check and we look forward to hearing from you. ### 1/5 — Nowhere to redeem book code? *2018-08-29* I purchased the hard copy guide to Hong Kong which promised a free app. When I log in I am only offered a free preview or an upgrade costing £14.99. I can find nowhere in the app to enter the redemption code in the hard copy so that I can have access to a full guide. Bitterly disappointed, a rip off. **Developer response:** We are sorry you've encountered problems redeeming your digital guide. The redemption instructions are printed on the inside back page of your print guide. Please email us at mobile@luxecityguides.com and we will assist you in the redemption process. ### 1/5 — Very Little information *2018-06-13, version 2.5.2* I would give this guide minus if I could. I paid $22.99 and received the Miami Guide which consisted of little info, one or two photos of each entry and a paragraph of info which you could with little effort find more out for free.
