This was a four or five star app on my iPad 3 but on my Air, I don’t know if it’s new iOS or new hardware, but sometimes it simply won’t register taps, for a fraction of a second, or for several seconds at a time. Not sure what’s happened, but it’s game breaking for a twitch game like this. Haven’t seen an upgrade from the developers in ages and ages, so I suspect they’ve put this oldie to bed and have moved on. ### 3/5 — Good when not crashing.... *2014-07-19, version 1.2.3* Make it far just get sent to the home screen on your iPhone 4S but great game otherwise ### 3/5 — Great game, but... *2013-07-05, version 1.2.3* This is a very fun and different version of Luxor, retro to the 80's type of feel, and I haven't played any other version of Luxor since getting this. However, and it is written about in many other reviews, it crashes...a lot! And it has way to many ads that pop up...many times DURING THE PLAY, covering the playing field! I have not seen any updates come forth in the year since purchasing. I was able to achieve #7 overall rating, but now it won't sync with the leader boards. In spite if the latter, I give it a 3 of 5 for the former...it's still fun to play. Please fix it! ### 3/5 — Sluggish on iPad 3 *2013-06-16, version 1.2.3* This game is a whole new take on Luxor and I am enjoying it immensely, having worked my way through the Elite level. My only disappointment is that the game slows down to a crawl during graphics-heavy scenes, and the second finger tap works only sporadically (especially when I need to swap balls RIGHT NOW). Otherwise, I get a real kick out of the retro look and sound and the secret levels and variety of powerups available. I have downgraded this game to 3 stars. I really want to love it but can't get past the way it constantly slows to a crawl in the course of gameplay. This really gets in the way of the total game experience. That being said, I still play the game... ### 2/5 — Ads? Really? *2012-12-30, version 1.2.3* This used to be an awesome game. Now annoying ads pop up after every level. I paid for this game, I shouldn't have to click through ads constantly to progress. Ridiculous. ### 4/5 — Great game but..... *2012-12-23, version 1.2.3* Love the game, super fun but one of the reasons I bought it was because in the first line of the description of the game it states it uses mpoints for reward system in the game and I'm big into collecting mpoints. They don't use mpoints and they have way to many adds for a paid app. They should just sell the game on its own merits its worth it. It's the false statements that upset people. Just my thoughts. ### 1/5 — Unresponsive controls, obnoxious ads *2012-12-13* Hey I paid for this app and do not want full screen ads every single time I complete a level.. In other words.. Often.. Big Luxor fan and have bought a couple of the others as well as osx versions.. This one controls very poorly.. It is just not responsive enough for a game that is all about reflexes as well as using one's brain. It's all very fast paced.. And should have controls to match, also, on my iPad 2, the ship is right at the bottom.. A bit of a gap underneath for your finger would really help as is often provided in games of this ilk. Skip this one and get sparkle hd which is still the best marble shooter on the iPad after all this time.. Or Zuma 2. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Adverts in paid game, jerky gameplay, not updated for iPhone 5/5S/5C/6/6+/6S/6S+ screens. *2016-01-02* Very poor purchase in my opinion for the reasons in the title. Despite this being a paid for game, there are interstitial adverts (not even just banners!). Furthermore the gameplay is a little jerky (tested on my 6S Plus) where the craft doesn't always respond well. Finally, this isn't updated for the (now, not even new!) wider screens introduced back in the iPhone 5. A little disappointed by the opening ad, but overlooked it because I so enjoyed the game. On a whim, I played it again recently and found MORE ads, and it keeps bugging me to log in to some new points system, which undoubtably leads to more ads/inbox spam. I'm very disappointed the direction MJ seems to be going. I'll definitely think twice before buying another app from them. ### 1/5 — Ads in paid game, terrible *2014-01-30, version 1.2.3* I bought this game a while back and evidently in one of there updates they put ads into the game. For the guy that says stop whining, get a life. Complaining about ads that are added to the game after you buy a game is very reasonable but you just keep enjoying your game and let others write their reviews. ### 1/5 — Won't work at all *2013-06-23, version 1.2.3* I have enjoyed playing Luxor on different platforms but I can't even get past the start menu without this version freezing and crashing. Through all the updates it's gotten progressively slower and buggier. Used to play for hours, now I can barely make it to ten minutes without it crashing. Also.... ADS?!?!? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?!?! That is seriously a load of bull. I paid for the FULL version of this game and there are still ADS after every stage. MAYBE THAT'S WHY THE GAME IS SO FRICKIN SLOW!!
