### 4/5 — Decrease in Puzzles?

*2025-11-01*

I’ve played this game for I don’t know how many years and would have always given it 5 stars until this tenth anniversary update. I only play the demanding puzzles and was greatly disappointed to see that there are now fewer puzzles per day. There always used to be 25 puzzles per level and then there were 16. Now today there were 8?! Why have the number of puzzles decreased? I understand if it’s effort to make new ones but certainly some could be recycled from the past - who’s going to remember? Thank you for reading this.

**Developer response:** Hello, my reasons for reducing the daily level count was to try and balance the time required to complete all the daily levels. I felt, especially later in the week, the game was asking a lot of time of the player and some of the sets I felt became tedious. Being able to reduce the puzzle count also allowed me to introduce some special sets with very difficult levels.

Please give the new daily sets a chance, and I’d love to hear what you think after a week or so at tom@thomasboker.com.

### 5/5 — Zen enjoyment

*2021-02-10*

Have been playing LYNE so ce it was first released. Got through the 999 levels initially but continue to be entertained with the daily puzzles when I’m sleepless or just wanting to relax and take a short break.

### 5/5 — Genius

*2021-02-06, version 1.3.2*

An extremely minimalist game with seemingly endless variations. I keep coming back to the daily challenges and am never disappointed.

### 5/5 — おしゃれ

*2020-05-27, version 1.3.2*

起動は若干遅いけれど、見た目がとにかくスタイリッシュなうえiCloudで保存できるので、とても良いです＾＾

### 5/5 — Geniale Idee, endloser Spaß

*2019-10-08, version 1.3.2*

Klasse umgesetzt, macht absolut Laune und fesselt.
Sollte man nicht beginnen, wenn man gerade wenig Zeit hat 😁

### 5/5 — Love this game!

*2019-09-01*

I’ve been playing this game for years! I completed all of the levels many moons ago, but I still play the daily puzzles every day, especially toward the end of the week when the daily puzzles are harder. I have to say, however, that I’m a little disappointed that the point tally doesn’t go beyond 999. It’s a small thing in an otherwise extraordinary puzzle game!

### 5/5 — Perfect for minimalists

*2018-10-04*

Fabulous game that’s well designed, simple and calming.

### 5/5 — Totally Zen

*2018-05-31*

### 5/5 — Calming and wonderful

I play this every night before i go to sleep

### 5/5 — Stunning, difficult, essential

*2017-12-28*

From a design perspective alone it can’t be skipped. The gameplay will make you laugh and scream. Get hundreds and enlarge your sphere.

### 5/5 — Timeless classic with infinite replayability

*2017-09-05*

It's meditation in a game. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — A Classic!

*2017-07-10*

Thanks for the compatibility update! I've owned and still continue to play Lyne over the nearly 4 years since it was introduced in the App Store.

Like all the better puzzle games, at first glance Lyne seems deceptively simple but your soon discover that it can be mentally challenging despite it's simplicity of play. It will have your thinking cap going full blast with the enjoyment it provides from solving the numerous puzzles of varying degrees of difficulty. If you don't have Lyne on your iOS device, I strongly recommend you download it. In my opinion, it should be ranked as a "Classic" of it's genre on the App Store.

### 4/5 — Great minimalist puzzle

*2017-07-09, version 1.2.0*

Lyne is an original puzzle with a wonderfully minimalist aesthetic. Connect like shapes using junctions and make sure the junctions are full. Sometimes, for me at least, it is a bit of trial and error, but satisfying nonetheless. Endless generated daily puzzles too. I'd like to see achievements to help maintain interest over time.

### 5/5 — Favorite Puzzle

*2017-07-09*

I love this basic little game! Distracting challenging and has a great rhythm to it. Keeps you moving forward. Love it

### 5/5 — Thank you!!!

*2017-07-06*

This is absolutely one of my favorite phone games. It's perfect for playing for a few minutes at a time while waiting in line somewhere or whatever. Hugely appreciate the compatibility update so I can still play it when iOS 11 rolls around.

### 1/5 — Naja

*2014-08-31, version 1.1.0*

Ich habe den guten Bewertungen vertraut und muss sagen, nein nicht meins!!

### 1/5 — Sync

*2014-05-21, version 1.1.0*

Please, please, make sync with iPad...this is a great game...5 stars for sync

### 1/5 — Addictive but strangely mysterious

*2014-04-26*

Pros: well designed game board and algorithm, addictive to the point where you really have to expand your creative thinking to keep going.
Cons: some support, only through Twitter. I have enough to deal with Facebook, I don't have time for another social network. And my emails to the developer went unanswered. At least I would have expected some encouragement.
Disappointing progress: no rewards for winning levels except new color palettes for the playing board. When I reached 200 points, I just got one last ugly palette. There should have been some kind of nice surprise.
In addition you are racking up mysterious numbers, preceded by three ??? What gives? Update: someone solved the numbers and it just adds up to a meaningless message from the developer.
I just completed all preprogrammed 650 levels - I really deserve some kind of excitement to keep me going on my lonely way to 999 points (playing the daily levels) - but the game does not provide any. Not even an acknowledgement of my achievement. No fun and very bad etiquette. Too bad: only 1 of 5 stars.

### 2/5 — It’s Different

*2025-10-23, version 1.5.3*

I have played this game for at least 20 years. My Granddaughter was just a little girl when I started playing.
We played it together in the dark, so we wouldn’t wake anyone up. I would finish all the stages from A-Z. Then I would be able to reset it back to Zero. It went to 999. I could start over on Zero. It was so exciting. This was the game I played every day. Lots of times, I played this game when I got home very late with my Husband like 5:30 am. I had to play it. Every stage I passed was so exciting. I have been bragging about this game for so long. I even have it on my iPad.
Today is 10-22-25. I started playing my game. Everything has changed. The format is smaller now. I don’t understand why this has happened. When I got a new phone, I had to pay $2.99 for it. So, why isn’t it the same? I am so frustrated by this. It’s disturbing to me. Please put. It back the way it was.

### 2/5 — Very disappointed

*2014-12-16, version 1.1.0*

I competed the A to Z and the 999 games. I write Thomas the developer to see if I could go further and he wrote me the following.

Arnold the reason there are 999 is because there is a hidden message with 999 pieces to solve the puzzle. I didn't really want an individual to get them all them selves but I knew it definitely could happen. Manipulating players to keep playing just to increase a number is not something I want to encourage so I will not be updating the number. There's plenty of other games out there to play.
Can you believe that? After achieving the maximum goal he tells me to there are other games to play. Very disappointed

### 3/5 — Decrease in Puzzles?

*2026-03-26, version 1.5.5*

UPDATE 3/25/26: So, up until last fall this was a 5-star game in my book for years. Then I downgraded it to 4 stars with the tenth anniversary update (see below). I am now decreasing the starts further because at least twice so far in 2026, the game has updated and wiped my progress. Today I am back to it asking my language, all settings reset to default, and zero progress. Which means no daily games till I replay, yet again, the ridiculously easy first levels. This is wasting my time. What the heck is going on with this game? This is a prime example of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

### 3/5 — Update is not as good

*2025-11-13*

This was my favorite game. Every morning I did the daily challenge. It was my routine. The new format is not as enjoyable and so few puzzles per day. Also the colors and format is dizzying. Please bring back old format and the daily 40 (60 on weekends) puzzles. Please!!

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for your review. I’ve decided to increase the number of daily levels in a future update soon so please look forward to that.
I would really like it if you could clarify what you mean by ‘colors and format’, as no colors were changed with the update.

### 3/5 — lyne

*2019-05-27, version 1.3.2*

Played all available (non-daily) games.
Many are good challenges, some a bit repetitive.

Main drawback is that as soon as you complete a game it disappears and you can’t examine it or reflect on it.

Enjoyable though

### 3/5 — Frustrating

*2018-11-24, version 1.3.2*

Interesting game with nice challenge but frustrating lack of instructions and it keeps losing my progress so I have to start over doing all the same easy puzzles again and again.

### 3/5 — Sorry to spoil 6/6 5* reviews.

*2014-01-15, version 1.0.2*

Just as a fan of puzzle games and mental games - I enjoy playing lots of chess but this is a good concept WORTH NOT EVEN 69p. Just a shame. Great idea but I played for 15 minutes before seeing the boredom behind it. 3*.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — My favorite puzzle game

*2026-05-11*

I’ve been playing this game for many years and still enjoy it! I know the update wasn’t loved by many people, but I just appreciate that the creator is still active in its maintenance. Some of my other favorite puzzle games from high school are unusable due to lack of updates and incapability. But Lyne has always been there and will be for quite some time it seems. I love this game and enjoy my daily puzzles. My only wish is for more new puzzles!

### 5/5 — Mindful Mastery

*2026-03-26*

Soothing sounds relaxes the body while the mind works out.

### 5/5 — Bring back the old format please!

*2025-11-09*

Please bring back the old format where there were 25-50 puzzles per day( and 75 on weekends) - the new format has too few puzzles and isn’t challenging enough. Also I agree with a previous review that the screen format is too small and needs to be bigger especially for those of us who play on our phones…otherwise still my favorite game and well worth the price I paid for it years ago!

Update 11/3: appreciate the new larger screen format…thank you!

Update 11/9: After another week of the new puzzle format, I’m still not liking the decreased number of puzzles…doesn’t feel challenging enough…can’t zone out and relax my mind when there are only 4-20 (not always challenging) puzzles to solve…

The size of the game on screen is very close to the maximum I can make it. If you could, please send me a screenshot of a level you think is too small so I can have a look.

Please give the new daily sets a chance, and I’d love to hear what you think after a week or so at tom@thomasboker.com.

### 5/5 — Excellent entertainment

*2025-10-29*

Part of my morning routine for years has been working the Lyne puzzles which become progressively more challenging through the week. I am very much enjoying the major tenth anniversary update and recommend Lyne to anyone who likes this kind of puzzle.

**Developer response:** Thanks!!

### 5/5 — Great game

*2025-02-09, version 1.3.2*

Thought provoking, no explanation needed.

### 5/5 — Best Game

*2024-04-29*

This is such a relaxing yet fun game. It challenges you after a certain amount of levels, but it’s a puzzle worth playing. After mastering levels, you end up being able to change the game skin- and they’re such pretty colors!

I want to thank whoever invented this game. I’ve had to play the game all over again after switching phones, but it’s been a pleasure every time. After having this phone for the past couple of years, I finally reached 999 points. It was a very sweet “thank you for playing”. So bittersweet; but even though I won’t make it to 1,000 points, I’ll still be playing the daily levels.
And that’s the other thing! Once you’ve finished all of the levels, there are daily games whose difficulty changes depending on the day of the week.

I absolutely cherish this game. It honestly calms my anxiety and is a great distraction from the stressors of life. To say I’d highly recommend this game is an understatement. It’s provided countless moments of entertainment and joy for me. Thank you to those who made this game. It’s an absolute hidden gem and a treasure.

**Developer response:** Thanks :)

### 5/5 — Wonderfully simple. Deceptively complex

*2021-07-11*

i’ve owned this game since it was released. Starbucks had a promotion for it to download free. it’s gone on so many flights and road trips, as well as just helped me relax laying in bed. the puzzles are make my brain happy. i typically solve the more complex within about 4 or 5 tries. if i find one that’s especially challenging, i step away for a bit, then return with fresh eyes to solve it immediately. the sounds are soothing. currently on my fourth play through, on stages G H I. i will go about 6mo to a year between play through a so as to not always be just immediately repeating the puzzles. usually enough time to forget them and replay them.

thanks for such a wonderful distraction.

### 5/5 — Osman

*2021-02-28*

This is my stress relief game, I just forget about everything when I play ,I had it for a long time I just don’t remember when I got it .My hand get used to all the moves. And I like it 👍
