## What is Lyris?

Lyris is a native iOS player for the music you host yourself. Connect your Navidrome, Subsonic-compatible or Jellyfin server and enjoy your whole library in a fast, beautiful app — with no account to create and no tracking.

FREE TRIAL, THEN A ONE-TIME PURCHASE
Lyris is free to download and every feature below is included in a 7-day free trial. After the trial, an in-app purchase (Lyris Unlock) is required to keep using the app. It is a single purchase, not a subscription: pay once and keep Lyris for good.

YOUR LIBRARY, AT HOME ON YOUR iPHONE
• Browse artists, albums, tracks, genres and playlists — even libraries of tens of thousands of tracks
• Instant search across your whole collection
• Favourites, ratings and smart playlists
• Multi-disc albums, release dates, artist pages with your albums and similar artists in your library
• Choose which music folders or libraries to show

A PLAYER THAT FEELS RIGHT
• Queue with shuffle, repeat and drag-to-reorder
• Synced lyrics when your server provides them
• Equalizer and ReplayGain volume levelling
• Lock screen, Control Center, AirPlay and CarPlay
• Keeps playing smoothly on weak or changing networks

OFFLINE AND ON THE GO
• Download albums and playlists to listen without a connection
• Stream in original quality, or transcode to MP3, AAC or Opus at the bitrate you choose — separately for Wi-Fi and cellular
• Instant seeking, even in transcoded tracks

DISCOVER MUSIC
• Recommendations based on what you actually listen to, powered by the open MusicBrainz and ListenBrainz databases
• Optional ListenBrainz scrobbling with your own token
• Optional Lidarr integration: send a request to your own Lidarr server when you find an artist or album you want in your collection

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No analytics, no ads, no backend: Lyris talks to your servers and to open music databases, never to us
• Your credentials stay in the iOS Keychain; Lyris stores a token, never your password
• Works with servers on your local network, on your own private network, or behind Cloudflare Access with custom headers
• Certificates are always validated by iOS

AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH, FRENCH, GERMAN, ITALIAN, PORTUGUESE AND SPANISH

REQUIREMENTS
Lyris needs a music server you run or have access to: Navidrome (recommended), another Subsonic/OpenSubsonic-compatible server, or Jellyfin. Lyris does not include or sell any music.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-10-17

• Internet radio. Listen to radio stations on iPhone and CarPlay. Find them in the radio directory or enter their address, then keep them on your Navidrome server or on this iPhone. Lyris finds the album of the song on air, shows its cover, and lets you add it to Lidarr in one tap.
• Hot tracks. A flame marks the most played tracks of each album, based on ListenBrainz listens.
• Follow your Lidarr requests. A new Lidarr button on Home, Library and Discover shows what's downloading and which albums are still missing.
• More reliable Lidarr adds. Albums are now added by their MusicBrainz ID, so the right album and artist land in Lidarr. If nothing is available yet, Lidarr keeps looking for them. Unless you choose otherwise in Settings, new artists get the profiles of your Lidarr root folder.
• Favorites now have their own rows in the Library: Favorite Artists, Albums and Tracks. They replace the heart filter and the Favorite Tracks playlist, which did the same job.
• Popular tracks on artist pages no longer need a ListenBrainz account.
• Animated album covers come to life in the player and on album pages.
• UI refinements throughout the app.
• Fixes. With several libraries, "Recently added" now shows your latest albums.
• A What's New screen after each update, so you'll know what's changed.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-10-13

- New "Rate Lyris" link in Settings. If you enjoy the app, a rating really helps other people find it.
- During the free trial, Home now reminds you the day before it ends, so it doesn't catch you by surprise.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-11

• Lyris now speaks German, Spanish, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese — it follows your iPhone's language.
• Radio: "Start Radio" in a track's ⋯ menu plays it followed by similar tracks from your library, in CarPlay too. With Autoplay (Settings › Playback), similar tracks are added when the queue runs out.
• Keep Offline: turn it on in a playlist's ⋯ menu and everything in it is downloaded, then every track you add to it.
• Follow your downloads next to the mini player: cancel, retry, and pick up again once cellular data is allowed.
• Hide Performers keeps conductors and orchestras out of the Artists list, for classical libraries.
• The last row of long lists is no longer hidden behind the mini player.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-10

Add french language

### 1.0 — 2026-10-07

No release notes.
