## What is M?

M-300 Remote is an application for remotely controlling the Roland M-300 V-Mixer live mixing console.

●This applications makes it possible to adjust mixing parameters from a variety of listening points on stage or around the room, away from the M-300 positioned at a fixed location.

●Combined with the easy operation afforded by the iPad's large screen and Multi-Touch interface, this application makes it easy to remotely view and adjust settings.

It is also equally useful as a sub-display and controller when placed beside the M-300 V-Mixer.

Important notes:
*Use with the most recent firmware version of the M-300.
*A wireless USB adapter (Roland WNA1100-RL) is required.

*A Wi-Fi router (wireless LAN router, etc.) is recommended but if not available, connection can be made directly to the wireless USB adapter in ad-hoc mode.

*Because the wireless USB adapter occupies the M-300's USB port, functions that use a USB flash key (such as recording, playback, and backing up settings) are not possible while the wireless USB adapter is connected.
*A single iPad can be connected at one time. This application cannot be used concurrently with the M-300 RCS PC/Mac remote application software.

This is a great app, though you'll need the wireless dongle which costs about £30.  It works flawlessly and enables really easy setup of foldback for example. If I'm standing next to the foldback speaker with the musician, I can adjust it to perfection.

Leider fehlt sehr vieles in der App. Wichtig wären z.b. Delays in den Auxen und Matrixen! Auch fehlt der komplette Effektblock sowie in den Inputs die Gate und Compressorfunktion. Das zu implementieren wäre sicher kein Problem, scheint aber von Rolandseite nicht gewollt. SCHADE, das können andere viel besser.

Eine schöne Ergänzung zum Mixer, die bei einigen Jobs in Zusammenhang mit dem WLAN-Stick für Erleichterung sorgt. Schön wäre, wenn auf Dauer die gleichen Funktionen implementiert werden, wie bei der M200-App. Somit könnte man die App auch als Wireless-Ersatz für die Remote Control Software am PC nutzen. Dann gäbe es sogar die volle Punktzahl. So ist der Einsatz leider nur eingeschränkt möglich.

Endlich hat Roland die IPad-Remote für die M300 herausgebracht. Gut gelungen: Übersichtlich, leicht zu verstehen (selbst für Drummer, die sich auf der Bühne gerne ihren eigenen Monitormix zusammenstellen möchten) und enthält alle wichtigen Features. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Der Wlan-Stick blockiert den USB-Port (wobei man mal testen müsste, ob man den Stick nicht mit einem entsprechenden Adapter auch an die USB-B-Buchse anschließen kann).
Vielleicht noch als Idee für ein Update: Die Kanalnamen und Farben auch über das iPad ändern zu können.
Zusammengefasst: Gute App, gutes Pult -> gutes Gesamtkonzept!
