## What is M?

M-Analytics lives in your Mac's menu bar and your iPhone's Home Screen, showing what's happening on your Matomo-powered site right now and today — visitors online, today's totals, and where people are coming from — updated continuously in the background.

M-Analytics is a right-now-and-today snapshot, not a historical reporting tool — there's no browsing last week, last month, or custom date ranges. For that, open Matomo itself; M-Analytics is built to be the fast, always-on glance at today, sitting alongside your full Matomo dashboard rather than replacing it.

ON THE MAC
— A menu bar number that's always there: visits today, visitors online, or logged-in members (WordPress), your choice.
— Click through to a full popover or open the dedicated window for the complete picture: an hourly traffic chart for today, today's summary (visits, visitors, pageviews, actions, bounce rate), today's top pages, sources, countries and devices, a live world map of where visitors are right now, and a feed of the latest visits you can expand for full detail.
— Drag panels to rearrange the window exactly how you want it.

ON THE IPHONE
— The same today-focused dashboard, redesigned for a single scrolling screen.
— Home Screen widgets in three sizes: a quick who's-online-right-now glance, a medium widget with the hourly chart and today's headline numbers, and a large widget that adds your latest visitors too.

BUILT FOR REAL MATOMO INSTALLS
— Works with any Matomo instance — self-hosted or Matomo Cloud — using a read-only API token you create yourself. Your server address and token stay on your device; nothing passes through us. We don't run any servers of our own and collect nothing.
— Handles the quirks of real-world Matomo setups: sites with plugins installed after archives were built, servers on plain HTTP on a local network, and tokens with limited access.

M-Analytics is an independent client built against Matomo's Reporting API. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by the Matomo project or InnoCraft Holding SAS.
