It offers a sleek design, great functionality, and valuable insights for performance driving. However, one major drawback is its lack of compatibility with Apple CarPlay. Many other OBD2-compatible apps already support CarPlay, making it possible to view real-time data directly on the car’s infotainment screen. Unfortunately, with the M Performance Drive Analyser, users are forced to rely on their phone while driving, which is both inconvenient and potentially dangerous. Integrating this app with BMW’s CarPlay system would be a game-changer, allowing drivers to access performance data safely and seamlessly. Given the premium nature of BMW’s M Performance products, adding CarPlay support would be a natural step forward, enhancing both usability and safety. I truly hope BMW considers this improvement in future updates! ### 2/5 — OK but not where vehicle not stock *2021-07-25* This app (and associated proprietary OBD dongle) could be great - but it’s let down by 1) Assumption your vehicle is stock. I don’t know how it calculates power (maybe from instant acceleration and weight?) but max on my car is the max of the stock vehicle…but I am running stage 1 tune so I know it develops more than that. Also if you select a different vehicle the power still works - but is clearly way off 2) inability to get the dial view as shown on the pictures - I can only get a simpler readout If those were resolved would be great! I still use for recording track data but the power / torque data has to be taken as relative vs actual ### 2/5 — Tragic disappointment *2020-01-24, version 2.4.5* I spent £130 for the official BMW dongle to connect my 320D to this application. I was super excited to capture information about how I drive, and use it to analyse my driving style. So far I’ve learnt that the petrol station owes me money as I’ve managed to achieve negative MPG! I left the office, drove a few miles down the road, and the app told me I had spent -£15ish on fuel (yes, negative spend), averaged -4.4mpg (I guess this means I’ve put fuel back into the tank by driving?!) and taken something like a kilo and a half of CO2 _out_ of the atmosphere (that’s the climate crisis solved). In addition, when my phone is connected to Apple CarPlay or Bluetooth, clicking buttons in the app makes an annoying noise which then mutes my media in the car. I can only conclude that the app is either super buggy, or my car is super efficient. I suspect the former. And I’m £130 down. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the user interface is actually quite pleasant - it uses the same fonts and icons as the car which gives some nice consistency to the experience. ### 2/5 — Не корректные показания *2015-09-28* Шкалы замера мощности не совпадают со шкалой в автомобиле, и если автомобиль с чипом увеличения мощности программа не определит мощность выше заявленной заводом. The only thing thing it doesn’t do is give you the lap time which is probably what most people care about it. Ещё бы head up поддерживала, было бы фантастика ### 5/5 — Tolles Tool für Dynamik-Fans *2020-11-18, version 2.4.5* Ich habe mir die App sowie den OBD Stecker bei BMW geholt, mein Fazit: echt toll gemacht! Einrichten ist einfach: App öffnen, SerienNr des OBD Stecker eingeben, diesen in den Port stecken, Verbindung erfolgt automatisch. Fzg in der App auswählen - ready to go! Der Einblick in die FzgDaten und der Funktionsumfang ist mehr als umfassend, äusserst interessant und durch den OBD-Anschluss reproduzierbar und zuverlässig. Besonders gefällt mir die Video-Fahraufnahmefunktion mit live-Daten und natürlich mein primärer Kaufgrund: die Beschleunigungmessung. Man kann in 10kmh-Schritten Beschleunigungs- und Elastizitätsmessungen frei konfigurieren. Im Gegensatz zu Fliehkraftsensor-Apps (billig, miserabel ungenau) und aufwändigen Profi-Apparaturen (extrem teuer, umständlich) erhält man hier jede Menge valider wie auch vergleichbarer Daten für einen überschaubaren finanziellen Einsatz. Ein Riesenspass! Btw, die Bedieneroberfläche ist logisch gelöst und optisch gelungen im BMW-Stil, der Kundensupport ist genauso schnell, wie freundlich und kompetent. App ist schön aufgemacht und hält was sie verspricht. Sogar die Fahraufzeichnungen über die Handykamera werden schön mit Fahrdaten hinterlegt und gespeichert. Preis ist M typisch etwas hoch aber dafür bekommt man ein einwandfreies Gesamtpaket.
