Every time a bid is placed basically driving the price up high until one person gives up I think the time should just run out not keep jumping back to a minute every time a bid is placed when it’s down to the last minute. And I think that all items should be transferable. I have now moved on to Nellis Auction, they have more integrity on their items they sell. Mac.Bid sells mostly returns, overstock, and damaged-box merchandise, so I understand that buying comes with some risk. My problem is how some items are photographed and described. For example, I saw a $105 wall clock that had clearly been removed from the box for the photo, yet ripped-up bubble wrap was left covering most of it, hiding the condition. Another item was a double-sided wooden canvas. They photographed only the undamaged side, while the other side was obviously smashed in, yet it was marked "Good." There was no way the employees processing item didn’t see it. Not every listing even shows the actual item. Some use nothing more than the manufacturer's or Amazon-style stock photo. I’ve also personally seen employees putting newly processed inventory on the shelves. One box contained glass cookware, and I could hear shattered glass moving around inside it. The employee didn’t care, he still put it on the shelf for the auction and I’m sure they guys in the back processing the item knew. I’ve had plenty of experiences with items being broken or missing parts, and the return process can be frustrating. If you don't purchase the warranty, getting your money back can be difficult. I now mostly stick to items marked "Like New." If something is listed as "Open Box," I consider it a gamble. For comparison, I’ve had a much better experience with Nellis Auction, especially with their return process. Mac.Bid can have good deals, but after more than a year of buying from them, I think bidders need to be very cautious. The actual condition of an item should be clearly photographed and accurately described—not hidden behind packaging or shown only from the good side. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2026-08-18, version 5.8.1* About 50% of the things I got here were badly damaged , used or a completely different item even when it was marked as inspected. Now you rarely find a pair of shoes or a coat item. They just stopped auctioning the items. It’s still a great way to get items for your home, to change the look in each of your rooms. They have something for everyone. As well as handy items. You will want to watch for open box and like new items if you are not a premium member. Every once in a while you may get something that isn’t labeled correctly, doesn’t work, broken or missing parts, or directions that is open box. Customer service has always been amazing as well. The employees working at each of the sites I have visited Canton, Warren and Boardman are so very awesome! They are helpful and so friendly! Ty Mac Bid!
