Smooth gameplay (except for my finger sometimes sliding off the paddle), great graphics, and a sweet soundtrack… very well done! The levels are really well designed, each with its own theme and strategies. The levels start nice and easy, but the pace ramps up as you clear out bricks. There are a ton of twists and items to explore that really change up the gameplay. There really is a great spirit of fun in this game! The 2.0 version of the game made it even better. Now you can play any level you've unlocked, which means this game is something you can play when you just want to kill a few minutes. Or you can always take a run at a high score from Level 1. Plus, the game now has fun and creative music that goes really well with the design of each of the levels. I still think this is a great game!! Now even better. The update allows me to select my favorite levels. That's great for me since my coordination is not so good. Umphee is so cute he should be on a t-shirt! For those who have had problems with the game-I have asked questions of the developer and his customer service can't be beat. Give that a try if you have a problem. Do the in app purchase. You won't be sorry! I'm playing the full version. On level one something happened-don't know how-and suddenly it seemed like I had every possible ball and capsule plus the smokin' eye flying around!!! So fun! Then Umphee was bouncing around too and I kept hearing BONUS and "25,000!!" Way, way fun! There are so many little surprises in this game and half the fun is figuring out how to make them happen again. That was a blast!! Warm reboot doesn’t help fix the crash. Why should I pay $2.99 and have no benefits from it? Disgusting that a company would do this to their customers and not make clear that buying the full version has no benefits. I also hate that the full version is an in-app purchase, which means iTunes credits cannot be used to purchase it. ### 1/5 — Ripoff Alert *2012-05-23, version 2.0* I bought the earlier version of this game and liked it. But when I downloaded the update, it eliminated the full version I had paid for and replaced it with a very limited free version. It now wants me to pay for the full version a second time. This is stealing. ### 2/5 — Awkward orientation *2011-04-09, version 1.0* I've played this game for years and was looking forward to playing it on the iPad, but I find the portrait orientation quite awkward. I'm sorry to say, but I don't think I'll be buying the full version unless they add the ability to play in landscape mode. ### 3/5 — So much potential *2021-12-13, version 2.2.2* I want to love this game but unfortunately the developer has mistaken annoyances for fun. Things like illogical bounces and over bombardment of bubbles along with being forced to take poison pills because the ball somehow magically ends up in the same spot as the ball make this game more frustrating than fun. I am up for a challenge but when the algorithm is controlling the ball more than you are it’s no longer a game of skill as much as it is luck. ### 3/5 — Poor design logic *2015-03-21, version 2.0* The logic built into this game does not make the game pleasant in many instances. Yes it is good to have challenges in games but not frustrating challenges. You'll have to play the game for a while to know what I am taking about. ### 4/5 — Annoyingly addictive. *2013-04-22, version 2.0* It would be better if there were fewer occasions when the game arbitrarily ignores its "normal" responses to capriciously sabotage play. A gap large enough for the ball sometimes should ALWAYS be large enough for it. Played for years on my Mac. Game play translated very well to mobile. Loads quickly. Such a well designed game. So much variability yet room for skill to affect outcome. And although mac brickout isn't the most complex game, it does accomplish this. It's very amusing with all of it's creative little tricks. It's an awesome old school game! I also had an experience with the developer. I paid for the full version and then it didn't work. So I emailed the developer and he responded the same day on a Saturday night with instructions on how to get the full version.
