What's New in Macdio

3.0.3

October 3, 2026

CarPlay got the most work in this update, iCloud stays lighter, and a few things are fixed. CarPlay - Search finds podcasts from the whole directory, not just the shows you follow. Stations are listed first, then podcasts. - If you don't follow any shows yet, the Podcasts tab lists the popular podcasts in your country. - Remove from Favorites and Remove from Saved Tracks now work in the car. - Song ID tells you when it's listening and when it couldn't find the song. - While a station connects, the Connecting line turns, so you can see something is happening. - Episodes with a transcript get a bookmark button. - If you open Macdio from CarPlay while your phone is locked, it now saves your listening history and keeps naming songs. iCloud Browsing Discover, search and the charts no longer copies stations into your iCloud. Only stations you play, favourite or add to a list are synced, which keeps syncing quick. Also - When you pause, the stream stops downloading after a minute to save mobile data, and Song ID stops too. - Your recordings appear in the Recordings tab again. - You can pick which tab sits in the tab bar in Settings > Appearance > Tab Bar. - Stations on older SHOUTcast servers now show song titles, codec and bitrate. - In Add Custom Station, Files opens the file browser. - Some stations show their correct logo now, and stations without a logo show the full Macdio icon. - If your library ever fails to open, Macdio leaves it untouched and tells you.

My New Favorite Radio & Podcast App

Great app and the developer is very quick at fixing issues and adding features. I use it on both my iPhone and my Mac and it syncs everything over iCloud. I love how it automatically fetches the artwork for the currently playing track when listening to radio stations. I now use Macdio for all my radio and podcast listening. Definitely worth the one-time purchase price!

Fantastic radio player

Love having this on while working. Simple, doesn't eat up resources, and streams connect right away without any hassle. The recording feature is a really nice bonus too.

A very good radio app.

The app is very smooth and easy to use, but I would like to see a feature that allows adding favorite radio stations to the menu bar window.

Response from developer

Thank you. Favorites in the menu bar are in version 2.6, which is already on the App Store. The menu bar window now lists your favorites, one click starts a station, and the arrows next to play jump to the previous or next favorite. Update and you will see it.

Good job!

I’ve been looking for a Live Radio app like this for a long time. The interface is clean app quailty is excellent.

Perfect ad free radio app

Exactly what I was looking for a simple fast and ad free radio app streaming quality is top natch 5 stars all the way!!!
