Why isn’t it possible to provide the number I’ll be using whilst away, yet still have email as preferred contact method? ### 4/5 — Very decent *2026-05-14* Macquarie offer great hassle free banking. Great interest and top notch security. Their digital offering is good however for a digital only bank that is quality it has some quite odd issues. Merchant logos and clear transaction descriptions! NAB has correct logo and description for basically everywhere. Macquarie picks up the majors but gets it wrong a lot. Kmart logo actually displays the American Kmart logo bizarre. Also insights - needs upcoming bills and the ability to move them in importance on the insights page. Cash flow I want to Love to the top and hide monthly budgets Hope Macquarie keep improving the app Can’t fault them but just needs a polish ### 3/5 — Recent Searches *2026-05-08, version 8.20* When deleting an item from the list of recent searches on the search page, it just reappears the next time on that page. This recent searches list is also no longer updating based on searches. There is also no way to provide feedback directly to Macquarie about this app. ### 5/5 — Very simple and intuitive *2026-03-05, version 8.17* I’ve used many different apps for my debit accounts in the past this app feels miles better than them. It feels really modern and there is very little faffing around to send money as it should be. 10/10 ### 2/5 — Ability to fully log out missing. *2026-03-02, version 8.17* When you log out, your account is protected with an insecure 4 digit pin. This is insufficient. There is no option for a full logout. I have to delete the app after using it to remove the account from my phone and redownload it each time to re-register. At least give an option for a longer pin than 4 digits. Also, no other bank takes 45 minutes on a call to unblock a card. Macquarie is the worst bank I’ve used in Australia. Instead, we’ve spent the last 2-3 weeks waiting to verify my partner’s ID, with no success. My partner could not use the in-app communication system and has instead been having to communicate via email and phone with multiple customer support reps to try and resolve it. We’ve now given up and gone with a different bank. The only reason I give a one-star review is that the process of cancelling the account application is that it took literally 3 messages between myself and the support agent to cancel the application via the banking app, which was very efficient. Otherwise I’d be giving it zero if possible. ### 1/5 — Horrid banking app, used to be great *2026-03-24* Update: Transferring funds between Macquarie accounts and sending money to external accounts is now broken. The app gets stuck on the processing step. Shameful app development by Macquarie! Do better. Changing my review to one star. Original: The notifications issue was fixed in one of the last updates, however due to existing issues with the Macquarie Authenticator app which currently nulls all notifications, I must rate this app two stars until the companion app is also fixed. Macquarie has made it so you must use the Macquarie Mobile Banking app and the Macquarie Authenticator app in order. There is no work around, no go between, unless you want to contact their foreign customer service team. Macquarie needs to stop ignoring user feedback. The notification failure issues for both apps has been on-going for several months. The Macquarie Authenticator app needs to be rolled into this app. There is no good justifiable reason why they are separated. This banking app is very basic compared to other financial institutions and their apps. Some people may prefer this simplicity but this also shows lack of investment in online mobile banking. Macquarie can do a lot better. ### 1/5 — Poor customer service *2026-03-17, version 8.18* I lost access to my Macquarie accounts because the latest updates of their app and Authenticator weren’t compatible with my operating system. I rang customer service and they organised for me to use online banking with a $2000 limit but said I’d have to buy a new phone to restore full access! Seriously?
