## What is Macro Photo Calc?

Macro Photo Calc is a focused optics toolkit for close-up and macro photographers. Set your sensor, magnification, and aperture once, and every calculator reads from the same inputs so you can move between them without retyping.

At high magnification the usual depth-of-field rules break down and diffraction shows up early. This app does the real macro math for you, so you can choose an aperture with confidence instead of guessing at the subject.

FEATURES

- Effective f-number: see the true working aperture after the magnification (bellows) factor and the light you lose to it.
- Depth of field: accurate macro DOF in millimetres and microns, plus the subject field width your sensor covers.
- Diffraction limit: Airy disk size at your effective aperture, and the exact aperture to stop at before the image goes soft.
- Extension tubes: total magnification from a tube on any lens, the added magnification, and the exposure compensation to add.
- Focus stacking: frames needed for a given subject depth, the focus step per frame, and the overlap between slices.
- Sensor circle-of-confusion presets: full-frame, APS-C (Canon and Nikon/Sony), Micro 4/3, and 1-inch, or enter a custom CoC.

Save named setups for the rigs and subjects you shoot most, and reload them in a tap. Copy any result as clean text to drop into your notes or share.
