## What is Mad Math the Game?

Mad Math began as a bittersweet letter to my 12-year-old self—a kid who truly hated math. I wanted to recapture that fast-paced challenge and that "how can I not solve this?" feeling that makes simple math so addictive. Along the way, this project evolved from a simple game into a comprehensive educational tool.

I’ve reimagined Mad Math as a platform that supports self-paced learning through guided, level-based lessons. Our new Study Mode is designed specifically to foster parent-child interaction and to encourage parents to trust in their child’s unique learning journey.

This app is a labor of love and will always be free. However, if you find it useful and want to support the person behind the screen, buying me a "god-like" flat white would mean the world to me and this project! It keeps me fuelled and helps keep the lights on.

### 2 — 2026-05-05

Added Study mode - an interactive educational tool that encourages parent-child collaboration. It provides guided math lessons tailored to a child's unique level, supporting independent growth. We are committed to frequently updating our levels, ensuring Mad Math supports your child’s education every step of the way.

1. Added terminology explaining what addition, subtraction, etc. is
2. Fix a bug that caused the generator to give out incomplete Math problems.

1. Update the instruction (shorten, straight to the point).
2. Recalibrate the difficulty.

1. Added a language package - enable Vietnamese
2. Added a Dark mode 
3. Added more customisation for practice mode 
4. Reduce rest time and balance the gameplay 
5. Added correct/ wrong answer chime

1. Practice mode for subtraction now have the options to choose whether to enable negatives or not.
2. Allow players/learners to choose the keyboard layout they are familiar to for their session.
3. Update on numbers font so it's easier to see.
