I can’t find a way to see if an item is available for store pick up. It makes me enter the CVC code for the payment I’ve had on file since I first signed up. And then I hit “place order” but nothing happens. They got rid of the ability to pick up in store or check in-store availability, which is a feature I used all the time. They also made it harder to find favorites or saved items— took me forever to locate. The mobile website is still like the old app and I’ve been using it in the meantime to check in-stock stores. It is so frustrating. It only occurs on the app ### 1/5 — did anyone QA this app? *2026-04-15* i’m sorry to the developers but this app is trying to do too much and it’s actually terrible. even worse since the upgrade. when you filter by tall / taller, and then by 27/28, for example, it brings up allllll the standards and petites. the only way to truly filter by tall is to NOT add in any waist sizes. so then you have to click into every single item to see if they have your size. which they never do with talls and tallers. also if you click an item and switch it to tall, then switch it back to regular to read reviews, the reviews disappear. so you have to click out of the item completely and click back in to read reviews. i could go on. i only used it for 5-10 minutes and found so many bugs. please do a thorough QA esp with your filtering system. also, i’ve said this for like 10 years but i’ll keep saying it— madewell, your obsession final sale, esp with tall sizes, is out. of. control. i’ve avoided buying dozens and dozens of pants on sale bc THEYRE ALWAYS FINAL SALE. in talls. which is outrageous bc talls are always sold out anyway, so it’s not like you’d have trouble selling them. it’s just greedy. **Developer response:** So sorry to hear this! The font is so large it’s illegible making the app unusable. ### 1/5 — The app sucks *2026-03-01, version 7.1.15* It locks up while signing in and doesn’t allow you to complete the process or go to a different screen. There had been many updates since then, and yet, Madewell is still unable to get it right. No sizing charts, not able to check store availability, constantly lagging or the app just completely force quitting. I do not have a store close to me, so most of my shopping had been done online. However, with the app the way it has been, I find myself shopping here less and less. Typically the app is great. However, a few days ago the shop section became blank when I tapped on it. The screen says women and men but nothing appears. I ensured the app was up to date. I uninstalled and reinstalled as well as logged out and back in. Still can’t see anything on the shop page. ### 5/5 — Madewell is my go to brand where I find clothes that become my forever favorites. *2025-04-01, version 6.3.3* It’s been 10 years since I worked for Madewell. In that time they finally started making men’s clothing. Madewell has those forever favorite pieces that you always need in your wardrobe. The best-fitting jeans, classic t-shirts, sweatshirts, and the jackets you never want to take off. I found what I needed quickly, and it was so much easier for me to enter my payment information compared to the last time I ordered from my phone. (using the website) This time, I could clearly follow what went in each field, unlike previously when I didn’t see a save button and sent my package to the wrong shipping address. I tried several times, over multiple days to make a purchase on their website and it just would not work. It let me add things to my cart, input my address, select shipping, etc, and then it wouldn’t let me input any sort of payment info. The website wasn’t even attempting to load. I had heard really good things about Madewell jeans so I wanted to give them a try. I decided to see if they had an app. They do, so I downloaded it and it worked great. I’m happy that I was finally able to make a purchase with them through the app, but I almost gave up because of the website not working. I don’t see myself making future purchases with Madewell outside of jeans, so it was annoying to have to download an app that I won’t even use in the future. **Developer response:** Oh no – so sorry for this experience!
