Can you transfer your sound packs to the newer on which I have as well. ### 3/5 — Bluetooth A2DP not working stand alone, only in AUM *2023-04-14* My Jlab Bluetooth earbuds don’t work with this synth. Sound only comes out right earbud and of poor audio quality. Sounds great with wired earbuds into 3.5mm port. Sounds great both ears for Jlab Bluetooth earbuds if run through AUM. Reviews suggest you fixed this for Trooper, how about a fix for Magellan 2? All my stand alone synths from other vendors work great with my Jlab Bluetooth earbuds. Can you please fix this? Then you will be my favorite analog synth app. But for now, kind of frustrated with the app. I really want to run it stand alone. Thank you! ### 5/5 — Whoa *2023-02-12* This app is amazing. Great sounds and UI. Feels like i am using actual hardware. ### 4/5 — Broken when I bought it, its fixed now thanks. *2023-01-13* Some of the features of this app barely work since it crashes every time you use them. This app is very buggy, if you mess with the FX it immediately does this weird cracking noise and mutes your sound. You also hear a crackle sometimes while playing any of the existing presets. ^ All of that has been fixed and works as normal now. **Developer response:** Hello! The app should not be doing that. It's www.yonac.com/support Thanks! - The Yonac Team ### 3/5 — Not as good as the original *2023-01-13* I had both Magellan 1 and 2. Magellan 1 was by far better. But it stopped working and crashed. So I deleted it hoping to reinstall, too late. They took it off the market. So now I’m stuck waiting to see if it will be opened to me here in America. If not where’s my refund with all the add on’s And as an add on review I was told Yonac will not refund my money and that it’s Apple’s responsibility. But any first year Law Student will tell you Yonac is wrong it is indeed their responsibility and their’s alone. ### 5/5 — Needs to be updated *2022-08-29* It worked great in iOS 13 and a few versions of iOS 14 but in iOS 15 it not longer works fully as an AUv3. It crashes in Audiobus 3, BeatMaker 3, Keystage and Camelot Pro in iOS 15. I reported this to the developer through the support page on its website and on Facebook but have received no response. Thanks! - The Yonac Team ### 3/5 — Good operability / High frequencies attenuated *2022-06-07* Pros: Clear user interface / Controllers have reasonable acceleration, so it‘s easy to make fine adjustments without accidentally altering the values when you remove your finger / Advanced unison settings for lively supersaws and alike Cons: Some notes have phasy artifacts, and while that may be on purpose to make an analogue-like impression, it still sounds strange to me / With any of the filter models engaged, the high frequencies become attenuated, even with the cutoff fully opened. That may be on purpose as well, to make for a warm sound, but sounds dull to me, especially on higher notes. Altogether: There is fun to be had with Magellan 2 and it turned out to sound better in a mix than I would have expected. But I am not happy with its overall sound. ### 5/5 — Great Synth *2022-04-26, version 1.2* There really is so much here for the price: lots of sounds, effects, a powerful ARP generator, a sequencer, and more. A lot of fun creating sounds. A pity it is not possible (as was in Magellan 1) to use the FX as Inter App Audio Effect. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — lots of problems - developers not responding - one star *2025-02-27* Problem 1 - the Magellan-2 DOES access the iPad microphone and mixes the signal with the music. Why? This is a fault and should be fixed. It's on an iPad. ------- Problem 2 - the Magellan does not function well with an external bluetooth device. Many other synths do but Magellan does't work well with a Korg MIDI keyboard. The device shows "connected" in the settings but the Magellan crashes repeatedly. Why? This should be also addressed. ------- I have already left a review regarding this but no reply so far. The developers have only a facebook contact and it's useless for those who don't do facebook. In the permissions it is not even listed, therefore cannot disable it. It must be a fault. They’re gone, and re-booting my iPad didn’t bring them back! ### 2/5 — Modulation matrix and filter zipper problems *2020-02-26* When modulating the filter frequency with aftertouch using the modulation matrix and setting the modulation amount to 100, the filter does not open fully, only a little bit. It allows to mix and match different filters and envelopes for a desired tone. It has a very nice warm analog sound. I’m using it for everything right now. A full professionally useable synth. I am so glad I bought it and upgraded from the original Magellan. Yonac’s apps are so cool and I’m looking forward to more. Yonac Synths RULE! - Grey F♾️l ### 5/5 — Underrated and powerful analog sounding synth… *2024-08-02* This is one of my favorite synth apps on iOS and I have almost all of them. Heck, there are some things about this synth that I prefer to real analog synths that I own too. Very versatile, easy to get around, great sounding synth. Not in love with the effects section but I never am in any synth and prefer to use desktop plugins for effects. ### 5/5 — Prima Synth *2024-01-01* Mir gefällt allerdings die GUI nicht, Potis mit Anordnung sind gut, den Font beim Namen finde ich überhaupt nicht gut, ist aber nebensächlich. Aber die Soundauswahl auf riesigen schwarzen Kacheln mit roter!! Schrift wäre nicht nötig gewesen. Aber der Synth selbst ist prima, deshalb die 5 Inzwischen gebe ich allen Synths, die keine +/- Option für nächsten/vorherigen Sound haben grundsätzlich nicht die volle Punktzahl. Aber seis drum. Ich fände eine Anpassung für M-Macs eine prima Sache, scheint kein Hexenwerk zu sein. Dann könnte ich einen Logic für iPad Song im Mac beenden. Geht Magellan 2 überhaupt auf Logic 4 iPad? With the amount of oscillator options, envelopes, filters & fx available it has all to get a desired sound. Compatibile con i preset del Magellan; il che è ottimo. Ottima implementazione MPE, anche la tastiera virtuale interna può essere usata per performance MPE e come midi output verso altri dispositivi. Optional utile, a mio parere. Bella interfaccia grafica a scorrimento e orientabile anche in verticale, con manopole e controlli a "prova di presbite" ; il che non guasta. Insomma, anche se rispetto al Magellan, li Magellan 2 non permette di essere usato come multi-fx esterno, risulta comunque essere nel suo insieme davvero un bel lavoro! ### 5/5 — 100% worth it *2023-05-19* The test of a soft-synth, for me, is whether or not I can make it sound like my analog synths. I’m blessed to have some actual hardware synths, and soft-synths usually show their limitations pretty quickly in an A/B test. This app replicates my best go-to hardware synths so convincingly that I couldn’t consistently tell the difference between the two - and I pride myself on my discerning ear. I recreated all my default patches for every piece of hardware in my studio, and use them for songwriting on the iPad itself. That’s pretty amazing stuff. Now that Logic Pro is coming to iPad, I’m seriously rethinking having a hardware setup at all. Hats off! ### 5/5 — Yes, this is what I have looked for *2023-05-07* This synth is really one of the greatest thing among other synths. From lead voices to pads you can find a wide range of sounds for inspiration. It takes a litte while till you get common to all features, but it takes not too long until you can create or modify sounds. And I am really impressed about the hit rate of SPAWN for absolutely useful sounds by random function. However, I love this synth and the interface looks for me absolutely good.
