Since updating to iOS 18.5, Magic Dice appears to load within GarageBand, but the processed audio is significantly lower in volume than before—despite no changes to track automation or gain settings. When I solo the vocal track, I can hear the effect, but it sounds far quieter than it did in previous sessions where Magic Dice was used as part of the mix. This has impacted the overall vocal presence and balance in my project. It seems the plugin may not be applying gain consistently on reloading a project, or the wet/dry mix isn’t being preserved or triggered properly when the session is reopened. I’ve tested re-tapping the dice to randomize settings, but volume remains low across different variations. Can you confirm if this is a known compatibility issue with iOS 18.5 and GarageBand iOS? Are there any workarounds or updates planned to restore normal plugin behavior? I’ve reinstalled and still the same result. using a current iPad Air 5th gen. Any advice? The problem is when I apply it to the virtual guitar, the moment I add it to the effects list, there’s a pop sound and all the audio is disabled. I then have to completely close out GarageBand and restart it. But if it’s still added the effects list, the same thing happens. It’s only to the guitars, that I know of right now. I’ve even restarted my iPad in hopes that would solve the problem but to no avail. Update: It’s stopped working all together now. The moment I add it to an instrument effects slot, there’s the pop and no audio. Can’t figure out what the problem is. Oh well. At least it sounded cool when it worked. **Developer response:** Hey there, really sorry to hear about the inconvenience it caused. This is not behavior we've heard of before - or been able to replicate ourselves in Garageband. I wonder if something went wrong during the App installation. Would you be able to delete the App and reinstall it? Instead we are going to just buy from other companies. I will never get anything from this company again and I will do my best to spread the word so others don’t either. It’s been over a year and the problem has had no fix or even a single comment or apology from babyaudio. I used this plugin for everything and now it’s absolutely useless. As the title states this is utterly pathetic. Love at first sight; the quality she added to my GarageBand beats rivaled that of my FL beats. It was a wonderful life we had together, but nothing good lasts forever. I don’t even know who she is anymore. Now when I add her to my beats, no matter what the mix level is, she overpowers the beat and destroys the sound. Idk where I went wrong, if it was something that I said, but there’s no love lost on my side. I still want her back in my life like a toxic ex riding on a boomerang. I hope this is just a phase, and I know the times we had meant something to her too. Roll the dice and see what you get, there are an incredible array of sounds that can be made at the drop of a hat. And it’s free. I do hope the main app comes online for iOS music makers soon. In this context, effects are the best way to transform samples and give them new dimensions. With this little magic effect unit, yoy can easily get creative with your sound library. I use it a lot to create dub chord stabs, spacey clap impacts or to bring some dimension to synths and vocals. It sounds got on any sound source.
