At least come up with a lifetime subscription!!! This is so wrong!! ### 1/5 — Removal of One-Time Purchase Option *2020-06-23* They no longer offer a One-Time purchase fee, very disappointed, this can often cause issues on set when recurring subscription fees do not sync and the tricks no longer work. Look for another option if you want to be a working magician or entertainer. **Developer response:** Hi Tony, The one-time purchase model didn’t cover the costs for on-going development. I’ve been adding around 2-3 new effects every year and this takes time and therefore costs money. This said, if you previously purchased the one-time option when available the app will continue to work (just tap ‘Restore Purchases’). I also offer a 12 month subscription and receipt validation happens on the device (I.e. it doesn’t need to keep connecting to the internet). So the chances of disruption during a show is very low. The annual subscription in the US currently costs $12.99. Or you can subscribe for $2.49 per month. If you’d rather only pay once you can do that too. Even with subtitles it makes it very difficult to follow. ### 3/5 — Disappointed *2020-03-20* I remember when the app was around $20 to buy and I loved the classic look that it had , I don’t hate this new app , I just really liked how the old version was . **Developer response:** Hi Felipe, I’m sorry to hear you preferred the old version compared to the new one. I’m not sure which version you’re referring to, but the design has been gradually updated in-line with modern app development principles. It also has many more tricks and enhancements. Lacklustre for anyone who actually knows a lot about magic and illusions. The tricks involved would be easy for a spectator to figure out ### 5/5 — Worth it! *2025-08-01* Look! I know it’s frustrating that it is a subscription based app now, and you can’t buy it outright. I’ve seen the developer defend that as a way to keep making new tricks, but the new tricks are few and far between. Maybe two or three have been added since I first subscribed seven or eight years ago. HOWEVER! The mere constant updates of phone operating systems, and new phones, and new six lens cameras, and so on and so forth does mean the developer has to constantly work on it, and the community of magicians is not big enough for him to sustain it without a subscription base. So yes I will probably spend hundreds of dollars to use it over my lifetime, AND it is worth it! I don’t love all 25 tricks, but even if only one in five tricks is good makes it worth it. And there are easily five tricks on this app that I love. I even like to take the tricks that I don’t care for and try to make them more interesting, and I have come up with some interesting routines. In short, GET THE APP! Learn some routines, and pay the annual fee to be awesome at magic. ### 5/5 — Please have a lifetime subscription! *2024-10-07* There are increasingly more and more magic apps out there. They are all pretty pricey for a one trick pony, but their effects can be amazing. This app on the other hand seems cheaper and has lots of great tricks. They’re not all amazing, but some are, and the utility uses alone are worth it BUT whenever I subscribe for a year I use a couple of the tricks a lot then I stop using it for a few months, so when it is time to resubscribe I don’t. I wait a couple years and I subscribe again, and I go through the pattern again. He has added a couple tricks over the years, but not enough to keep me subscribing. I would love to just pay one lifetime subscription and use it when I want to, and not worry about if I’m getting enough out of it on a yearly basis. ### 5/5 — A treasure trove *2023-01-07* It’s a great app and is helping me add depth to my EDC. Easy instructions, great stuff!! If I had one thing to add would be a white light option in the Appearing Light utility. Never really did phone magic but it works great, lots of tricks, and great tutorial. Worth the money alone for the sword trick but majority of the other tricks are worth it still. Also being military I don’t always have signal or WiFi and it will work without it. Works in airplane mode. Best app I’ve ever spent money on.
