After quite some time, Magnate's second big update has finally arrived! Let's go through some of the new features: iPAD AND MAC SUPPORT Magnate now takes full advantage of the larger iPad screens! The User Interface for the iPad has been redesigned from the ground-up to take full advantage of the bigger screen, displaying even more information at once while remaining easy to understand and navigate. It was designed to feel similar to how it is on the iPhone, while using the design paradigms you might be familiar with on other iPad apps (like the navigation bar on the side). Less stretched out UI from now on -- hooray! By the way, you could also take advantage of this new UI on the Mac! Magnate is now available on Apple Silicon Macs (any Mac released since November 2020), letting you manage your money like a Magnate wherever you really are. (If by any chance you're running it on a Pro Display XDR, please send a picture of that to me! That would be incredibly cool to see and nerd out on.) SIRI SHORTCUT INTEGRATION You could add entries into Magnate without even opening the app at all! Magnate now integrates with Siri Shortcuts, along you to interact with Magnate in ways never possible before -- asking Siri to do the work for you, creating a shortcut with another app to automatically add an entry if you bought something online, and many more possibilities! More shortcuts will be added in future updates, but this is just the great beginning! MANUAL CURRENCY CONVERSION The world is opening up again, meaning that you'll probably end up at a location where the currency they use is different from the one you set in Magnate. Chances are that you might not be able to automatically access the conversion rates in Magnate, since those pesky carriers charge exorbitant fees for data roaming. Magnate has a solution for that -- manual conversion rate inputs! If Magnate can't fetch the latest currency conversion rates, a text box will pop up, allowing you to manually input the conversion rate you'd like to use. IMPROVED DATA EXPORT (PRO) Exporting your entries is now a lot more powerful with an all new UI! You could specify what kinds of entries you want included in the CSV file or Calendar events Magnate will generate -- want those Expenses under Personal between December 25 and January 1 on a CSV file? How about those Earnings tagged as Side Hustle entries from the entire month of November on your Calendar? Now you can -- along with a lot more filters to truly get what you need out of Magnate. CLOUD SYNCING (PRO) Perhaps the feature that took me the longest time to develop is Cloud Syncing, and I'll be honest -- it was an incredible pain to implement, yet it's finally here! Do you use Magnate on multiple devices? Perhaps you'd like to manage your money on the go on your iPhone, then check the graphs in Report over on the big screen on your iPad or Mac. Magnate now automatically syncs the entries, goals, tags, profiles and all other data across all your devices that use the same Apple ID! It truly works like magic. AND EVEN MORE FUN! - UI tweaks and revisions to make Magnate easier to see and navigate for those who may be differently abled. - The photo selector in the Add Entry View now uses the new iOS API, making it even more secure and private. - Fixed data processing bugs that would cause Magnate to crash on start-up. - Fixed a bug on the Calendar view that would cause the tag list to grow on each date change. - Report View code was rewritten to be up to twice as fast as before!
