Recording starts on its own, so anyone who simply watched the live field and switched tabs was losing that measurement — it is kept now. Unlocking a report also no longer leaves you waiting on a spinner when no video is available. ### 1.0.28 — 2026-08-12 Fixed the reading jumping when you tilt the phone. Sweeping a wall means tilting, and tilting alone used to move the reading — sometimes far enough to report metal where there was none. The cause was in how the phone's built-in magnetic bias was cancelled: the app zeroed a single number, but that number mixes the phone's own bias with the Earth's field, and only the bias stays put when you turn the phone. Zeroing them together worked at exactly one angle. The app now learns the bias from the movement of your sweep, which cancels it at every angle. Turn the phone around for a moment when you start; the reading then holds steady until real metal disturbs it, and shows 0 until it has seen enough movement to be sure rather than showing a confident wrong number. Also in this update: • The app now says what it can and cannot find. It detects iron and steel — screws, nails, studs, pipes, rebar — within a few centimetres. It cannot detect gold, silver, copper or aluminium, because those metals are not magnetic. That is now stated in the app and in the description instead of being left for you to discover. • The store listing no longer suggests treasure hunting, which this sensor cannot do. ### 1.0.27 — 2026-08-06 The meter now starts reading the moment you open the app — no more tapping start to see a value. ### 1.0.25 — 2026-07-30 Thanks for using our app!
