Being able to actively engage in my community in a way I know will be productive is a total game changer. Really thankful that this organization exists because I do believe it will make the world a better place, one project at a time. The app is intuitive and straightforward. Dangerous pot hole on your street? Magnify your voice by adding the issue on this app and unify your neighbors to take action and get it noticed and fixed. I’ve seen larger, more national issues addressed here, as well, and the app provides a cohesive way to take on multiple issues at once without feeling overwhelmed. I think it will be fun going through the pages (esp. when there are more of them). We all have charitable impulses but not everyone is connected enough to know what to do with them, so this app is a neat idea. ### 5/5 — Individual projects *2019-10-01, version 1.0.15* One thing you often hear is that people wait to be asked to help; we’re all busy, we don’t know what might need assistance or where our efforts might be of best use, we don’t want to join something and then regret it... so we don’t take action until someone asks us to. The beauty of Magnify is that anyone (you! your kids! your grandparents!) can ask for help with something, and those of us who might like to be engaged in our community but might want to start small or with individual, discreet projects can answer the call—and all of it in our terms, without blasting anyone or knowing that if we agree we’ll be condemned to a lifetime of solicitations. You hop on the app and type up what you’re working on, what you need, your plan of action, whatever—and wait for like-minded people to find your project and pitch in. Or you hop on the app, poke around for something that fits your interests, values, etc., and know exactly what you’re signing on for, whether it’s a couple of hours helping with a one-time volunteer event, helping to research the best next steps for a problem, agreeing to write a letter to the editor or attend a meeting... And although of course you might find an ongoing project or organization that you want to commit to, you can also explore and do as much or as little as suits you. You know how every now and then Nextdoor serves to actually solve a problem or help neighbors come together?
