MahaTrafficapp is a user-friendly application created for the citizens of Maharashtra who may need assistance in matters related to traffic-regulation. This application also facilitates viewing and easy payment of traffic challans generated against their vehicle(s). This application also helps citizens notify the police department about incidences of violations that take place on the roads thus enabling the department to take prompt and decisive action to keep the roads safe and secure. While installing the app, a user must register himself/ herself using his/her mobile number. My Vehicles A user can register a vehicle by its number to track e-challans issued against the said vehicle. For the same, Click on the “Add Vehicle” button and enter the vehicle number. Where a mobile number has been registered in the RTO\"s Vahan system against a particular vehicle, such a vehicle gets added to the “My Vehicles” list without additional validations. If such a mobile number does not exist in the RTO records, the system shall prompt the user to enter the last 4 digits of the vehicle\"s chassis/engine number for a maximum of 10 attempts. A user may add multiple vehicles to the “My vehicles list” against a single mobile number to get notification(s) of future challans issued against each vehicle thus added. Users can also delete vehicle details from the “My Vehicle” list where they do not wish to track challans on a vehicle anymore. My E-Challans A user can view all the e-challans issued against vehicles mentioned in the \"My E-Challans\" list. For the same, the user needs to click on the vehicle number and then on the e-challan number. In case users wish to pay compounding fees on the pending e-challan(s), a secured payment gateway is available to do so using Credit/ Debit cards. E-Challan Payment Citizens intending to pay the e-challans received shall be redirected to the e-challan payment portal where they would be required to enter the relevant vehicle numbers (with the last 4 digits of chassis/engine number) or challan number(s). No one looks at these reports !!! ### 1/5 — Worst need improvement *2025-10-06* Worst app! They issue challans conveniently but it’s unclear who actually operates it. They don’t review violations for big cars like Fortuner or Thar, and they completely ignore trucks that don’t have visible number plates or HSRP. Even when there’s clear proof, they still avoid issuing challans to trucks. I don’t understand why there’s such a double standard. Another issue — they act on traffic violations but not on real public problems like waterlogging, fallen trees, and other incidents. ### 1/5 — Till the time you open the app to click picture, criminal is gone. *2025-08-07* Half the people drive on wrong side, two wheelers never wear helmet. Till the time you open the app to report the criminal run away. There should be provision to add video from footage taken else no one will ever improve. ### 3/5 — Functioning app needs improvement *2025-07-12* There is no facility to upload photos from gallery. I humbly ask the developers to add feature of adding photos from gallery to citizen reporting as opening app on the go is difficult ### 4/5 — Wrong side driving *2025-06-27* This is a great app and will help people inform violations directly to the MaPo. But, There is no option to report wrong side driving by two or three or four wheelers. Such things are very common nowadays making the traffic jams. The app developers can please make required changes? ### 3/5 — I’m glad there is an app now, but *2025-05-29* Would be good for the developers to consider a pinch of user experience. Let’s say I notice violation, it takes about 4 clicks before I take a picture. A good enough time span for the violator to be alarmed. Ideally allow the user to take a picture first and then fill details of what violation it is, etc. ### 2/5 — No option to upload pics *2025-03-30* There is no option to upload pics of traffic violations…its not possible to open the app and click photos esp when driving… ### 3/5 — Add photo preview option before submitting violation *2025-03-10* When we take photo to report violation we can’t see the preview it will help in entering correct number of violator ### 1/5 — Civilian Report Not Working *2025-03-07* Unable to submit complaints. App shows no response or error message. This error has been present for over 6 months now. Seems such apps are made only to benefit the corrupt IT companies that bribe the govt to get contracts to make such low-quality apps. Digital India indeed. ### 3/5 — Upload from Gallery *2025-03-04* Please provide the option to upload an incident photo from photo gallery. In case of wanting to record an incident in real time, the time it takes to open the app, go to the incident report page and then take the photos, is very time consuming.
