## What is Mahjong Lantern?

Big tiles. A calm evening. A board you can always win.

Mahjong Lantern is classic Mahjong solitaire made for a phone held upright. Tap two matching tiles to lift them from the tray. Clear every tile and the lanterns rise.

EVERY DEAL CAN BE WON

Many tile-matching games scatter the tiles at random and quietly hand you boards that were never winnable. Mahjong Lantern builds each board by playing it through first, so a way to clear it always exists. If you do paint yourself into a corner, a shuffle is free and leaves the board winnable again.

MADE TO STAND TALL, WITH LARGE TILES

Traditional layouts are wide, and on a phone they shrink until you are squinting. Every layout here was designed for an upright screen, so the tiles stay large and clear, even on a smaller iPhone.

THREE WAYS TO PLAY

Easy: two layers, and every tile has exactly one twin. There is no wrong move.
Medium: three layers, and some tiles come in fours, so the pair you choose starts to matter.
Hard: four layers, with every tile in fours. Think about what you uncover.

Six layouts in all: Lantern, Moon Gate, Pagoda, Vase, Tower and Palace.

GENTLE HELP, ONLY WHEN YOU WANT IT

Tiles you can take glow a little brighter, so you never have to wonder which ones are free.
A count of open pairs tells you at a glance whether a move is left.
Undo as far back as you like.
Shuffle the remaining tiles for free, at any time.
Want a nudge? Watch a short optional video and two tiles that pair up will light up, chosen so the board stays winnable.

TRADITIONAL TILES, EASY TO READ

Dots, bamboo, characters, winds, dragons, flowers and seasons, drawn crisply on warm ivory. Character and wind tiles carry a small number or compass letter in the corner, so you can match them without reading Chinese. Any two flowers match each other, and so do any two seasons.

PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF

Close the app in the middle of a game and your board, your time and your undo history are waiting when you come back. The clock stops by itself when you put the phone down.
