## What is Mahjong Maestro?

Western Mahjong practice for your next club game.

Learn Western Mahjong hands, check your tiles and play against three computer opponents. Mahjong Maestro helps beginners learn at their own pace and gives experienced club players a convenient way to practice between games.

PLAY WESTERN MAHJONG
Choose Basic or Western rules, arrange your tiles and open the hand reference during a game. Select book hands only or the full collection in Settings. A small animated fish shows when a player is fishing: one tile away from Mahjong.

LEARN HANDS AND CHECK YOUR TILES
Explore clear tile examples, hand guides and missing-tile exercises. Enter your tiles in Tile Checker to compare them with the patterns in your collection. Build confidence through guided practice and daily challenges.

START FREE
Play with Ordinary Mahjong, Gertie's Garter, Wriggly Snake and Greta's Garden. No account is needed.

MAKE IT COMFORTABLE
Choose classic tile symbols or English labels, change tile colours and adjust text size. Games and practice progress are saved on your device, so you can return to an unfinished deal. Gameplay works offline. Purchases and restoring a subscription need an internet connection.

EXPLORE MORE WITH PLUS
Mahjong Maestro Plus is an optional monthly subscription. It includes all 116 special hands, their guides and three daily challenges. The starter collection stays free.

Eligible new subscribers get a 7-day free trial, then pay the monthly price shown in the app. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled. Manage or cancel it through your App Store account. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid a charge.

The app uses the Western Mahjong rules explained in its Rules section. There is no real-money betting or prize money.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-10

This update brings the hand collection into line with the book and Lucy's latest clarifications.

• Clearer guidance that White Elephant requires white dragons.
• All Honours supports terminal tiles from different suits and the permitted kongs.
• Eight confirmed book hands now appear with Book hands only enabled.
• Book rules take precedence for Chow Chow and Little Robert.
• Search also recognises book-name aliases.

Existing saved deals keep their original rules. Start a new deal to use the updates.

We've also refreshed the App Store artwork and made "practice" consistent throughout the app.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-27

Explore 27 new non-book hands from Lucy’s collection, bringing Plus to 116 special hands.

The table now has a simpler Basic or Western choice. Open Settings to choose book hands only or the full collection. Your preference applies to Tile Checker, practice and new deals.

Settings is easier to find, and book and non-book hands remain clearly labelled.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-20

Choose Western (book) or Western (all hands) directly from the table, Tile Checker and hand catalogue. Tile Checker results now show whether each hand is from the book. Your selection applies to new deals, while an unfinished deal keeps its original rules.

We have also simplified the first-game introduction and made membership pricing, free-trial details and practice options clearer.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-19

Explore 22 more special hands with Plus, including Crazy Chows, Harlequin and Up You Go.

Book and non-book hands are now labelled in the catalogue. Open Settings to choose all hands or book hands only for your next game and practice sessions.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-19

No release notes.
