I was playing Vita Mahjong previously, which never gives you unsolvable puzzles. But, I just could not stand all the ads. I am patient and can tolerate ads between games… but… this app has pop up ads that pop up in the middle of your game and block your view. There is no x out option to dismiss the ad. Completely ruined it for me and I have deleted this app. They obviously want you to subscribe but their annual subscription rate is too expensive for me. I would pass on this app! ### 1/5 — Used to be good *2026-07-10, version 2.1.10* I got this because it was an easy to use, multi level game, and I have played it for a couple of years since ads were made more apparent. A bit annoying, but rhe game was still worth it. So a couple of days ago, the ads in portrait orientation started layering over the top of the game board IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME. Basically, play (but not the timer) stopped until the ad went away. Annoying, but occasional pauses were still worth it for the game. Then multiple ads like that started showing up in a row and killed ability to use the game. I realize that ads are the cost of playing the game for free, but when they essentially kill the ability to use the app then it makes no sense to keep the game around. ### 1/5 — Intrusive ads *2026-07-07, version 2.1.10* I used to love this app. I relaxed with it every morning with my coffee. For years. The ads were unintrusive; limited to banners above the game board that didn’t interrupt or impede the game. Now the company has seen fit to include intrusive ads that cover the game board, have no way to dismiss them, and no timer to see how long you’ll have to wait to resume gameplay. That’s it for me! I once enjoyed this game but no longer. There are PLENTY of other Mahjong games available. If the company chooses to remove these intrusive ads, let me know and I’ll return. There are over 40 styles of the game “mahjong” This is a basic matching game.
