MaidDay (出糧啦) is a salary estimation and record-keeping tool for Hong Kong employers of foreign domestic helpers (FDHs). Use a simple calendar to record work days, rest days, annual leave, sick leave, compensatory leave, absence and overtime. MaidDay updates the estimated salary breakdown automatically for each pay period. Some employers pay from the contract start date (the 14th to the 13th), others settle by calendar month with a month-end payday — MaidDay now supports both, set per helper. • New "Pay period type" setting in each helper's profile. • Calendar-month mode always runs whole months, with payday at month end. • The joining month is pro-rated automatically: days before employment are itemised as a deduction, so the first payslip matches the days actually employed — and those days are locked on the calendar. • PDF fix: the final-settlement export now itemises the unworked-days deduction that was already reflected in the total. ### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-01 Archive a helper whose contract has ended. Her whole record — calendar, salary breakdowns, final settlement, PDF export — stays exactly as it was, read-only, ready whenever you need to look something up. No more deleting a finished contract just to make room for the next one. • Archived helpers move to their own list, clearly marked, one tap away. • Every past month can still be reviewed and exported as a PDF — useful long after a contract ends, from tax questions to Labour Tribunal paperwork. • A new helper always gets a fresh record. Nothing from a previous helper can ever carry over into a new hire's calendar. • Payday reminders stop for archived helpers, so you are never nagged about someone who has left. • Statutory and general holiday dates for 2027 are now built in, including the Lunar New Year dates the gazette shifts because a festival falls on a Sunday. ### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-04 Contract-end settlement. When a helper's employment ends, MaidDay now works out the final payment for you. • Tells you whether severance (遣散費) or long service payment (長期服務金) applies — and when neither does, it says why rather than just showing zero. • Handles the case most employers miss: not renewing a 2-year contract counts as dismissal under the Employment Ordinance, so long service payment can be owed after 5 years without any dismissal at all. • Annual leave now accrues with service, so a part-year departure is pro-rated correctly instead of paying a full year's entitlement. • Payment in lieu of notice, in whichever direction it runs — and a waiver switch when you agreed to the early departure. • Return passage, travel allowance, and a signed bilingual settlement statement with tick-boxes for the air ticket, release letter and Immigration notification. Fixed: the last working day was one day late. One month's notice given on 16 July now correctly ends on 15 August. ### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-25 Half-day records are here. • Record Annual Leave, Sick Leave and Absent as either a full or half day. • Salary estimates, leave totals, calendar markers and PDF summaries update automatically. • Existing records remain full days unless you choose otherwise.
